I'm forced to use Comcast since it is the only company that provides Internet where I live in Shreveport, and it has been awful. Almost every night, I lose Internet connection and have to reset my modem/router. At least twice a month there are "technical problems" and the internet won't be back on for another day or two. If I'm paying for this every month, and at the price I'm paying, it's ridiculous that there are this many problems with it, not to mention the customer service is complete ***.

Details
This is ridiculous were paying for reliable service. So when im taking a timed test for college i should not have to worry about the internet failing on me but that is not the case. The internet decides to fail in the middle of a timed test (50min 50question). When i call to find out how long the Internet will be out the service provider lets me know it will be out for additional 4 hours. This is unacceptable and is destroying very important things that can not be replaced. Which includes grades for test for college classes that i do not see comcast helping me pay for.

Comcast - Poor poor customer service

Comcast. I was given a free three month period for HBO and was told there would be no installation fee and would be an add on perk for trying the faster internet service. I accepted and for the last three months have had to call and ask where the credit was for the installation charge that was told to me on two different occasions with two different agents. Last call I was on the phone for and hour and 10 minutes and still could not guarantee that the credit would be posted because customer service isn't "authorized" to actually post credits they can only "request" credits. I also incurred 3months of late charges due to the credit not being posted and asked to have those removed and was told that they are never able to credit late fees. There was a credited late fee on my account in July, go figure. Would not recommend and I am going to cancel service. Be cautious when adding on "free" anything and document document document !!!

Comcast is pretty lousy

I know they are just another big company and people sometimes fall through the cracks, but I work for another and they go through great pains to keep customers and make them happy (within reason). I had bad service which cost me time and money as I rely on service for my job. Had to put in to cancel 3 times as they got it wrong every time AND had to pay during time I didn't even use service due to their mess up. Also was contacted by corporate agent who assured me he would see about credits, monitor my account and then call me back. 2 weeks later....nothing. Not even a memo on my account that he exists. And then the last rep that HOPEFULLY got my cancellation right, tells me I could have gotten service credits all along due to my issues. I even gave them a change. Almost 6 months worth of patience and waiting. Service was up and down. When I stopped calling they stopped caring. Which I understand, but honestly, if you have a problem fix it and then call it quits. Its a shame as they are one of the only carriers in my area. But thank goodness, I was able to get to another one and have the flawless service I need to actually work and make money.

Comcast has failed to provide proper Internet connection

After struggling for the past couple of weeks to keep my Internet connection up and running for longer than one minute at a time, I managed to have a technician come to my home to fix the problem. Not once did he check any of the outdoor connections to see if that could possibly be the problem. He finally relented to giving me a newer modem he was supposed to have walked in with; unfortunately that didn't make any difference. He said he couldn't do anything and I needed to have my computer worked on. It works just fine in the shop that just finished servicing it; it's only while using their connection, that things don't work the way they should. This man was sloppy in appearance, was talking to his wife on his cell phone when he entered my home and continued talking to her for about five minutes after his arrival. Keep in mind that the man I spoke to to set up the appointment on July 10, 2008 ran a couple of tests from his site and he even said the problem was on their end not mine. I want to work from home however that doesn't appear to be a possibility as long as my ISP is failing to provide the service I'm paying for. I've also noticed that the signal is much stronger after midnight, however Comcast refuses to listen. I know someone who works for them and will be finding out who to send a complaint to regarding the lack of help I received on Friday. July 11, 2008. I am definately not a happy person right now.
