You name it, it has happened | Comcast review from New Albany, Indiana

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE AND DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! Originally I went into the local store to sign up for cable with DVR service and wireless internet services. Found out very quickly I did not have wireless internet services or DVR service. Went back to the store. Funny the woman who sold me who is a great sales person turns out to suck at customer service. Rude and no help. She did switch out my box to get wireless access. Get home and set up. So now I have wireless internet which has been password protected and not with a password I selected. Guess what local store can't help you with password help. So I am calling the customer service line, WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! I have tried at least four times to get to someone who could help me. First, off shore employees who are not understandable, then transferred, on hold, transferred again, on hold....Each time I have spent at least an hour and still do not know what my wireless internet password is. Furious I call customer service drop coverage to basic services and no DVR. My bill has increased significantly??? Then I get a mailing saying OOPS we haven't been charging you for DVR an your bll will increase. After a live chat I finally get in and have a message that there is an outage in my area. Funny I am on their website and watching cable TV, no outage. Buyer beware! If you want to pay an increasing amount each month, pay for services you can't access and never want to talk to someone for help this may be your company. Otherwise, I suggestyou do as I am doing next, contacting DISH Network and telling Comcast to shove it.

Comcast Cramming Bill.

I have been being Billed $124.53 forever. In Dec the bill was Crammed for $32.00 bringing the total to $156.53. I caked them waited on the phone over one half hour and disconnected me. I went to call them the following day and brought up my bill online for some figures. I had the Jan2014 bill and they had Crammed another $20.00 on it, Total now $176.53. This is for their Tripple play Basic package with NO EXTRA'S! I spent over an Hour on the phone being disconnected 3 times. The final Customer Service (LOL) person claimed the $20.00 charge was because my plan had run out. As for he $32.00, they didn't have a clue. so now it's goodbye ComCRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, once the initial plans run out, the fees increase. Fact in, customers really don;t need all that extra crud!

Internet is provided in about 3 tiers. Burst of speed is extra.

Most people don't need 50mb speeds with burst-of-speed! Buy your own cable modem and save the rental fee.

Comcast Gateway Router/Modem

Update by user Oct 12, 2013

Bill went up again. Agreed to a lesser price to bundle all 3.

Called 3 times because new equipment never came.

Still nothing. Next step - different service company.

Original review posted by user Sep 10, 2013

I responded to an offer for a FREE Gateway router/modem from Comcast. It said I could get much faster internet speed. After installation,It was much slower than my old one, which I had to return to them. I called them twice and got a runaround. The third time I called, I was finally told I could get faster internet speed by subscribing to a higher "tier". I asked if it was free. And, of course, they said no. So I have to now pay extra to get the speed on my old "slow" modem. I feel this is bait and switch.

Agree! Installed mine last night.

After 4 hours, talking to 7 different people, being transfered from the cable department to the phone department to get everything up and running and being "accidentaly" hung up on 4 times I told them I wanted to re install my old one. Thier responce was "I'm sorry.

I can't do that. I do not have that information anymore." Then he gave me a phone number to call that gave a constant busy signal.

Comcast Stinketh

My problem began a couple days after my recent Comcast installation. My cable modem would disconnect from Comcast's network at random. Some days as many as 6 or 8 times in a day, some days not at all. Installing a new cable modem didn't help, so I installed a PC a few feet from the modem, and fed the rest of my network from that computer. Then when Comcast disconnected from the cable modem I found that I could ping every device on my network, but nothing on the Comcast side of the modem. Communicating this on several occasions to the people at Comcast (all but one of whom seemed to be pretty "low wattage" types) I was asked a breathtaking panoply of *** questions (is your router plugged in?) and been told some Cosmically *** things (it's your modem/router/wiring/computer) which clearly weren't very helpful. I was expecting them to next say "It's George Bush's fault". Today a Comcast chat "analyst" had me perform various Moronic operations, only to disconnect when I pointed out that none of them were germane to the problem. Enough of these *** Comcast will be History at my place shortly!

Internet frequently not working | Comcast review from West Lafayette, Indiana

Our internet would stop working almost on a weekly basis. We would try turning off the router, etc. but nothing helped. Over the course of a year we had a Comcast repair guy come over probably over a dozen times, and eventually one repair guy said "there's something wrong with an underground wire - what I'm doing is basically a band-aid and it'll stop working again. To fix this permanently would mean digging up the street and fix the underground wire. The company won't do that." So we were stuck with *** internet. We ended up getting so sick of it that we would get our internet from the cafe down the street.

Outright lied to | Comcast review from Merrillville, Indiana

my girlfriend and i have had comcast for a couple of years. we had cable and internet and decided to upgrade our service to include phone and premium channels because we were told it would actually be cheaper. also we ordered guerrero fight for pay per view on hd. one hour before the fight i tuned in to watch the preliminary fights on the undercard however the channel would not show. an hour later and now into the fight the channel would still not show. we called several times but nothing worked. now livid and with a house full of guest i told my girlfriend to cancel the fight because i was not going to pay for half a fight and something we could not see in the 1st place. the operator who's name is richard and i.d is 1nm told us that we would be able to watch the fight in standard definition and that no charge would appear on our bill. when i received our latest bill the total charges where 399.21 which is 235.76 more than our original bill before we made the upgrade. not only were we told that our bill would be cheaper but it also included, you guessed it,the charge for the fight. when we contacted comcast we were told there was nothing they could do and we would have to pay the bill as stated. not only is this dishonest business practice but i had no choice but to cut off the service in order to pay this inflated bill. i will not be returning to comcast and urge all others to get all deals in writing before you make any deals as they will say one thing and execute another. unfair comcast unfair.

Billing is horrible | Comcast review from Huntington, Indiana

I just spent 2 hours of my life I will never get back arguing with Comcast customer service. I have been deployed with the military overseas for the last year. While deployed a divorce became necessary so at the end of November I called comcast to cancel service, I was assured that for my ex wife to get service reconnected she would have to pay the outstanding bill of 279.94 but to cover my bases I gave the rep my new address and cell phone number so that a final bill could be generated if my ex wife didn't pay it. The rep told me if she didn't pay it they would send my bill to finalize my account. Well go figure no bill ever came so I assumed bill was paid by ex wife to have service reconnected. So after no bill or contact from them all the sudden I begin getting robo called 4 times a day from a collection agency about a bill I didn't know existed. So I called again to resolve it as I wanted no negative information added to my credit report from this phantom bill. They said they would send me a new final bill in 5 days to pay but refused to recall the account from the collection agency thus damaging my credit rating. I find their lack of help in resolving this horrible not once would they accept responsibility for the billing error their solution is to pay the collection agency and allow the credit blotch what an absolute load of garbage I have been a customer for over 7 years and never had a late payment. I'm fed up with them I will never allow their service or products into my home again I would rather read a book. I have contacted better business bureau in Washington, D.C. And recommend others to do the same sorry for the long rambling message but really just pissed off now.

There are children in the home, my sister is sickly and has heart problems, you think com-cast/ X whatever!!!! They just don't care about their customers, but there will come a day when you will need us. I hope you get your act together, you should have someone on call to fix the problem. I agree that your situation stinks. If Comcast is your phone provider, they would have had a tech there within 24 hours.

In most cases it's within 12-18 hours.

The law is 24 hours as well. If you have Comcast Internet and lets say Vonage for your phone service, then Comcast is not liable for the inability to call 911 since they are not your phone carrier.

Comcast Cut Off My Email Account

Going through an ugly divorce. However, soon-to-be ex-hubby did one good thing. He filled out a form from Comcast and provided a copy of his drivers license authorizing me to change the family Comcast account into my name. So I went down to the local Comcast location, with the necessary authorization paperwork and switched the account to my name. My big concern was if I could keep my current email address, old messages and address book -- no problem says the Comcast representative. I came home, activated the new service, and after speaking with a Comcast customer service rep by phone, was able to access my old email account. Everything seemed fine -- I even got a bill for $80 from Comcast in my own name -- then two days ago I suddenly couldn't access my email account. I contacted Comcast and at first was told that it was all just a silly glitch and would be quickly repaired -- but soon I found myself being transferred to another customer service rep, then a technician, etc. Apparently there was no information in my account record about the authorization forms I had submitted to the local Comcast office allowing me to make changes on the old account so Comcast cut off my email account. To turn the service back on I would have to go back to the local Comcast office and start all over again. When I pointed out that I must have submitted the necessary forms, had the proper authorization, to make changes on the account in the first place, the Comcast technician told me to have a nice day and ended the online chat.
