i have Xfinity X1 and came on here looking for answers. i find reports from 2011... 7 years of the same issues so i have to ask myself, i am paying for X1, paying for Netflix, i could buy amazon prime but their "sources" for many of my shows is X1... and yet they are missing to me. there are still lots of shows i cant watch or view from cbs/fox/tnt and so on. Comcast is missing massive amounts of shows and episodes so i am forced to jump between all these services, pay for all these options, and STILL not be able to watch current shows in their entirety.
if i torrent i can get any show/movie/clip/behind the scenes that i want with in 30 seconds of wanting it, entire complete series with documentation on season breaks, where to watch extras or webisodes to stay in sequence... it can be an immeasurably better and smoother experience. why are we still dealing with this crap in 2018? why is it this hard to simply get the shows and movies we all want to watch?
the visual entertainment industry frequently talks about needing segmentation between studios and content/price control, how much more profitable could all this be all these companies could get there crap together and have all content available to everyone?
there is a quote by gabe newell of valve software - "Our goal is to create greater service value than pirates" and it has been wholly successful.
