I had a house fire last 6/12/09 where I lost everything.I settled my account with direct TV at that time in full.
In March of 2010 I got a letter stating I owed them $340 because they reinstated my service in December. Which was not possible since there was nothing at the site except a lot, not even electric. I called. They kept changing why I owed the money.
First for service, then for a contract which I did not have, and finally for the lost equipment. Reason kept changing. Anyway when I disputed the bill, they used old method of payment and went into my bank account and took out $365 without my permission. Moral of story - stay away from Direct TV.
I had been a loyal customer for 17 years.Consumer beware!
