I'm forced to use Comcast since it is the only company that provides Internet where I live in Shreveport, and it has been awful. Almost every night, I lose Internet connection and have to reset my modem/router. At least twice a month there are "technical problems" and the internet won't be back on for another day or two. If I'm paying for this every month, and at the price I'm paying, it's ridiculous that there are this many problems with it, not to mention the customer service is complete ***.

It took me 5 minutes to write this review because of the speed of Comcast. They crash. We have periods without service. And it costs me hundreds of dollars in employees' lost time waiting for the screen to come up. I can't wait for Googles' new internet service. Can't wait to dump the monopoly in my area for internet service. They can't be made to pay for lost service because they only reimburse for lost service not their painfully slow service. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR COMCAST. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR COMCAST! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR COMCAST !!! DO NOT SIGN UP!!

A nightmare of an experience with Comcast

Details
Arrived in our Sarasota condo to find out our cable box wasn't working. A service technician named Rex told us a service person would be out the next day to take care of it. Instead of next day Rex scheduled the call a week later. We took the box to the Sarasota showroom. A representative named Bill was pleasant and gave us a new box out of the package. He explained that Comcast stops power to boxes that are unplugged. When we got home the new box didn't work. Alan came out did not have same box but left a none really box. Now we can't exchange this box with one with a dvr. This is the worst company ever and I've seen some bad ones. We will try to return this box soon. Will write about this experience later

Comcast in Clinton, Tennessee - Residential Internet Service

Comcast has the worst internet service possible. They claim to have a blast service but I think they just give everyone the same service and charge a higher price for what they call "BLAST" The "BLAST" does not last long and then it's worse than dial-up. We've had problems all this month (March) and I don't think they can fix it. I pay $70/mo for the service and I'm going to cancel and subscribe to another carrier for 1/2 the price. Say good-by to comcast.

Comcast in Atlanta, Georgia - Find any other service ...

Details
If you try to get out of your contract before 2 YEARS!! (How long they make you sign for), it is a 75% of remainder of contract termination fee. Find anything else! Use your phone for internet service if you have to. In my situation, I moved from the office with service to an executive suite that didn't need service ... there was no where to move my service. They would not let me out of the contract. I will never deal with them again.

Have COMCAST TV in Jacksonville Beach. Calling their Customer Service Department is like trying to do an Obstacle Course.

If you have any problem with the reception or billing issues, you might as well just cancel and take the loss (unless you have a lot of time and tolerance to spend trying to fight them to get a solution; they stonewall you and have idiots on the telephones to talk to the "nasty, complaining customers".

If you talk to others around town, everybody says "Oh no, you have Comcast ... good luck trying to get anything resolved if you have a problem." I did not believe it could be all that bad.

I was wrong; I should have listened. It is horrible.

I have Comcast (Internet only) because it is the only option in this area. When the sub-contractor tech came to set it up, he told me a total and when he left, I noticed he tacked on an extra $30 so I had to deal with that. Since August, we've had at least 2 major outages. When I called about my account, it could not be found because my phone number was entered incorrectly. They changed it. Nope. They did not. Three more times that I had to call due to my defective modem my account could not be found. Each time they said they had changed it but they did not. FINALLY, I managed to have it rectified on the fourth try. At this time, I signed up for automatic bill pay. The next month I got a call that my account was past due. They had also incorrectly set that up. Furthermore I was charged for the replacement modem that I was required to install myself OR pay $50 for a Comcast tech guy to install. Their modem was defective yet I was expected to re-install and do it all myself or they would charge $50 for what they are responsible for...........If the devil offered Internet service, in this Godforbidden place, I would prefer his.

I had been a comcast customer for over 15 years. They put me in collections since I was a month late on my final bill. When I called them, they had received my payment and when I asked that they update the credit agency, they put it off on me and then hung up on me. This is the company that I have paid over $200 a month to for a very long time. I will never work with comcast again and will encourage my friends and family to stop all service with comcast.

Leaving Comcast after six years—happily

When I first had Comcast Business service installed, there were a few issues with the dedicated IP addresses, but otherwise the connection was fast and reliable. The charges have risen by less than 10% without explanation or reply to my inquiries. Each month I get something in the mail asking that I contact them for any needs, but apparently if those needs fail to increase my bill, there's no point in returning my calls. Recently the modem has been going off-line more than once a week. Typically, this can be corrected by cycling power, but not always. When I have to call the company to reset the modem from the main office, they can do it. Each time I complain about this annoyance, I get the line that I could avoid these issues by upgrading—adding cost. American businesses have wandered a long way from their public relations roots, but this chutzpah is more than I can bear. They will not replace the modem because they claim that the service I got six years ago ($85/mo. is too cheap) is no longer offered so they do not feel obligated to fix it. Fortunately, there are alternatives to their once monopoly in San Francisco. I have submitted a complaint to the California AG. I don't expect much.
