We are currently paying Comcast $79/month for internet that is supposed to be 20mb/s download, and a 5mb/s upload. The speed is constantly way lower than what we are paying for. Ran a few speed test's over the course of the day, and on average we receive about a 3.7mb/s down and a 3mb/s upload. With periods to where the speed is about .78 mb/s which is unacceptable. We called the technician out, and was charged $20. All he did was tighten a few cables. Reset the router by turning it on and off. Then said he would have to send some people out during the day to fix it. It has been a week since his visit, and they haven't shown up. If you read this and are thinking about getting Comcast DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GET IT NO MATTER HOW MUCH *** THEY THROW AT YOU!!!

Your ping is insane. A connection somewhere is no good. Could be a splitter in the attic or something else.

If it's a wireless comcast router, connect it directly to your computer via ethernet cable and retest, good results ? get a new router if not , cancel the service and switch.

I had this problem, they had to run a new line to my house. Also, if you are in a very population dense area high traffic will slow down the speeds.

Yesterday I called one authorized retailer for Comcast - I got this number from the leasing office of the apt I'm moving in to. I spoke with a guy named Kevin (who by the way didn't give me any last name or ID number). He said that I could get a package for new users for internet of 20mbps for $34.99, and that that price would be the same every month for ONE YEAR. After that, Kevin told me that I could get the modem by paying $134.89 (109.95 modem + 14.95 shipping + 9.99 tax), and that after two month they would give my money back an the modem would be mine. I gave him my credit card information, and they've charged me for the modem. Before I hang up the phone, Kevin gave me a number to call to schedule the installation. I called this number and they told me that they couldn't schedule anything because I had first to go to Comcast in person. I went to the center in Chamblee, and once I got there, the attendant told me that nobody set up an Comcast account for, and that the internet speed of 20mbps and the price of $34.99 DOESN'T EXIST!!!! DOESN'T EXIST!! How is that possible? I spoke with a real person on the phone, that gave me this package, charged me for that amount of money, and then they tell me it doesn't exist? The attendant told me there was nothing he could do, and that I should call Comcast. So, I did it, and spent almost 2 hours on the phone for them to tell me the same thing: the package didn't exist, and that they couldn't cancel it because I didn't have an account. Besides that, they couldn't find any information saying that I had payed for the modem, even though I did, I have an email that proves it, and my bank statement says so. The lady on the phone told me they would give me my money back, but didn't give me any further information - and again, this was the same lady that told me she couldn't find the bank transaction... Today I decided to call the retailer again, and they didn't let me speak to Kevin (the guy who sold me the "nonexistent" package), but I spoke to a girl, Cristal. She could find the order for the internet at 20mbps for $34.99, but she told me that it really doesn't exist (whaaaaaat?), so I asked her to cancel that for me, which I hope she did, but I have absolutely no confirmation for that. She also gave me a number to call to get my money back. I called that number, and after a long time trying to prove that MY ORDER did REALLY EXIST, they found it and told me they will refund me within 24 hours, and that they will send me an email once this happens. I am completely pissed about their service, because it isn't my fault AT ALL that they sold me the wrong package, and nobody did anything to try to solve it, besides saying that I had to get a different and most expensive package. Why should I pay for their mistake? This is not the way to solve things, because, again, IT IS NOT MY FAULT THAT THEY DID SOMETHING WRONG! And besides, having me call them two days in a row for about 5 hours to (hopefully/finally) get something solved and my money back is a complete irresponsibility and lack of consideration with their costumers.

For more than 4 days my internet speed was quite slow so I decided to do a speed test at speedtest.comcast.net. Surprisingly my speed was 0.41Mbps when it is supported to be atleast 4Mbps. I called the customer service guys and told him about the speed test result. He started asked me if my internet is working. I asked him if he has a slight clue what internet is and how it works. I just did a speed test on comcast. I asked him if I can speak to the manager and he transferred me to the main menu. I called back twice and the call got hangup on its own. This is the worst service I've ever used in my life. *** yourself comcast.

i agree, comcast is the worst! unfortunately, they have a monopoly in my area.

'just got internet back after quitting them 2 yrs ago, only because I need it for my job. good luck (bwa-ha-ha; they don't giva a sh:)

On occasion I have had to contact Customer Service for many organizations. Occasionally, the first rep I speak with is able to resolve the issue. More often than not I need to escalate before a suitable resolution occurs. In some instances I need to escalate to the executive level. However, until today, I felt that as a consumer, if I were determined, a satisfactory answer would be forthcoming. Comcast is the exception. Their approach is opaque and shirks all responsibility. I have been billed four years for services that I cancelled and could not receive. (I moved four years ago.) One can attempt to reach the executive level, but they are shielded by a response team that deflects calls to regional offices. In this instance I attempted to contact Neil Smit's executive assistant--Betsy Wilkinson at the corporate headquarters number 215.286.1700. I spoke to a member of the "team" named Justin who provided no value add--referring me to the regional office.

I used to be a CAE at Lynnwood,WA Tech Repair call center. Comcast Cares Day is a joke.

You had to use a vacation day to participate in the HARD PHYSICAL LABOR VOLUNTEER SERVICE DAY.

Comcast Cares...but not much.

Comcast Cares...about $$$. If you want discounts call the 800 phone number and ask for the retention department.

I have the same problem with them! It is so frustrating!!

I usually wait before I call customer service as well, the last time I called the woman actually hung up on me!! It's unbelievable that they can get away with this. I hope Fios expands so that comcast learns some competition.

They are beyond disgusting when it comes to hidden fees, customer service and providing service that actually works.

I'm thinking of canceling my service and just going with netflix or roku.
