It falls to you to educate yourself when it comes to any service contract. As with any company that provides a contracted services there is always a ETF.

To claim ignorance of said ETF only shows your failure to read. You failed in one of the most basic of skills and seek to blame others to cover your failure. I understand money is tight but if it's as tight as you claim for medical reasons then why would you not read? Did you forget to do so?

Just because you were given a pass in the past doesn't mean that the concept of an early termination fee never existed in those contracts. I'm betting you've gotten really good at the sob story game. You couldn't help yourself and even did it in your original post. I fail to see what your life story has to do with your complaint.

You use it to garner sympathy and pity and in quite a few cases to dodge paying bills. Eventually you will run into people who no matter how much you cry and tell your tale will be able to do anything for you. That your particular sob story is the 50th they have had to listen to that day and they honestly don't care. It's been done to the point of overdone.

Why do you think it's all automated? By chat, email, and robocalls they have taken the human out of bill paying. No sob story to listen to no freebies to give away. This means it's more on you to educate yourself fully before you enter into any form of contract.

Be it a cellphone, Internet service, or cable TV it's your responsibility to know exactly what you are putting your name on. Read the emails fully.

Request a paper contract for your personal records. Protect yourself with knowledge.

I work from home sometimes and I moved into a new house. Comcast set up a time and date to send someone out to look at the house and where I wanted everything. I was told I would get a call about a hour before the tech came out. I get a call telling me the tech was at my house. Jump in the car drive over there and no tech! Then I get a call telling me to make another appointment. I had to drive 1hr 40min back to work at night to do 5hrs of work that I couldn't do from home. Did the internet work at my old place? Nope! Got home 1:17am and had to be back at the office by 7:00. I HATE YOU COMCAST!!!!!!!!!!!

Comcast - Lost my job- They wont waive term fee

I recently lost my job and had to move out of state where there is no Comcast service. I wasn't aware of the $180 term fee. So I had service for 6 months. I've called them repeatedly for help but they sent it to a collection agency and refuse to negotiate with me. Why are you so mean Comcast. Have a heart! I have tried to settle this for 2 months now. Everyone I've talked to says they will get it waived and then they come back with sorry I cant. This is crazy and very unprofessional. TWC would have waived it immediately. oh wait- they dont have termination fees!!!

I just moved from Fargo, ND to Minneapolis, MN a couple of months ago and I switched from Midco back to Comcast. I was assigned a home phone number to my acct because it came free with the package I signed up for. Since getting the phone number, Comcast employees have been calling and asking for a woman that I have never even heard of - "Deborah *** Over the past 2 months, I have repeatedly told each Comcast employee that they have the wrong number for this Deborah. I've also had at least 4 of the employees tell me that they were going to put a note on the number and the acct saying that this was the wrong number for Deborah. Well, they obviously never do because I got a call this morning (Saturday at 11 AM) from Comcast, and guess who they want to talk to? DEBORAH *** If those previous employees actually put a note in my account / number then I wouldn't still have Comcast call me multiple times EVERY WEEK for this Deborah person. I'm sick and tired of telling Comcast that they have the wrong number b/c employees are too *** to put notes on accts / phone numbers. Oh, and they actually ROBO called at 9PM on Thursday night this week (Oct 6th) - they also never answered my husband when he said "Hello?" about 5 times. They woke our baby up from her sleep and it is unacceptable to be robocalling people at 9PM!

Stay away from Comcast they are like many other big companies that reel people in and when they are stuck with them then they step on them and treat them like *** and dirt. My family and I have been loyal Comcast customers for over 15 years and they could not find a good deal for us they said we had the best possible deal which I know for a fact is not true. They even told me today when I spoke to someone from their executive office that they did not care if we left. Well that's exactly what we will be doing we will be downgrading our services in the next few months and getting our other services cheaper else where. My mom is a single mom in college and I have two special needs brothers we surely don't need to be handing Comcast extra money we don't have that we could be using to pay for other things. Spread the word to your family and friends to stay away from this company. The more business they lose the better maybe then will they realize how to treat a loyal paying customer.

Each time you have to call comcast, rest assured it will not be a 5 min call. Even if its a simple thing. Range of issues - call drops, you are put on hold abruptly and get transferred back into the waiting que. Recent exp - called to get HBO added to channel list. How much time you would thing this should take? The whole exp between having to speak to multiple representatives, call drops, system isssues for the reps, transfers, consultation of the rep with their managers, etc. took more than 1.5hrs :) am feeling so lucky!!! To top that HBO is more expensive than subscribing to HBo NOW! Comcast marketing/sales are sleeping.

Comcast in Holden, Massachusetts - Internet price increase on first month of takeover from Charter

Comcast raised the internet fee as soon as they gained control in Massachusetts from Charter Comm. I called to question the reason for the increase. Their customer service said 'the rate was raised because you are receiving the fastest spped available and if you want I can connect you to our sales dept where you can ask to discontinue your service'. I have been using Charter since 1985. Thank you for the loyalty-all that has been said about Comcast and their service is true-they are horrible and they absolutley do not care about the customer. Unfortunatley, I have no choices in my area and they obviously know this.
