check out this idiotic conversation with the chat "service line" about a dead dial tone. 45 minutes of wasted time. LUCKILY I called on my cell phone and got a human being in the meantime....user miriam schaefer has entered room

Have you ever been to India. You are Talking about home phones.

They are now ancient in india. India has on of the largest telecommunications network in the world so just stop embarrassing yourself and get a life.

needless to say, you got pissed off because of those security verification that was asked by the chat support rep. you have to understand that you have to go through all those security verification because that is to protect your account.

well the reason the service was so bad was because you were talking to someone in India they don't understand home phones because they don't have them

I had Comcast phone service for a few weeks, very unreliable and the sound quality was lousy. I went back to the " Real " phone company. Copper phone lines never sounded so good !

Oh yeah, the best way to get the name on the account changed without actually starting up a new one would probably be to visit a Comcast payment center if you are able to. Bring a copy of the death certificate and proof of residency.

I would also recommend staying away from their chat. Although if you don't have an urgent problem like lack of dial tone, it can be amusing to see how long it takes for them to stop with the inanities and actually say SOMETHING remotely related to the issue at hand.
