Comcast in San Francisco, California - Missed appointment - retaliation internet disconnected

I had an technician not show up for an appointment. When I called to say he hadn't shown up, about 20 minutes later my internet modem was deactivated. I got a call from someone saying they would not come back out to do the phone install because I was not home. I was home all day - they had some story that some unnamed person told them I was gone and it was my fault and I should not have picked that appointment time, and then hung up on me. The truth is COMCAST picked the appointment without even telling me. I called to complain about the person who hung up on me and was told it would take TWO WEEKS to find out who that person was. I got another person on the phone, and they told me the person in 30 seconds. So they lie, rude to customers, retaliate on customers, and just don't care. It has been two days and I haven't heard from anyone, I keep calling and they keep giving me "incident numbers" and saying someone will escalate my install and contact me. NOTHING. I called support for internet service and was told my modem had to be reactivated. I pulled the logs from the new modem, and a signal was sent shortly after my phone call to complain to disconnect my internet service.

Comcast in Modesto, California - Required modem for internet

Per a letter I received, I purchased a new modem for my internet service. The letter said I could dispose of the old one. When I went to activate the modem with Comcast, I was told that I really didn't need a new modem because I had one for my phone service. Also, that I needed to turn in my old modem rather than dispose of it.This was very confusing. Please get everyone on the same page to avoid such confusion.Also, why is your call center our of the country? Your techs are very hard to understand which makes it harder to deal with them. I took your survey after my ordeal (this took almost 2 hours) and requested a phone call. I was not called. Is this what you call customer service?????

Comcast in Sacramento, California - Wrongful charge

Comcast internet and phone service was installed for me on 5/14/2013 at which time I told the installer that the only "extra" phone service I wanted was caller ID although all of the other services are part of the package at no extra charge. I specifically said "no call waiting" or "voice mail". Somehow, call waiting was activated. Not only was it activated but it did not work properly as I was getting interrupted by another caller's voice while I was conversing on the phone and was disconnected of the original conversation. I called Comcast several times to have "call waiting" disabled and was disconnected from Comcast during several of these calls and nobody ever called back. A tech repair person was sent out to my home to try to take care of the problem to no avail. I was told that the problem had to be taken care of through the phone repair service which I then contacted. They told me that according to their information, the call waiting service was disabled but I continued to have the same problem. Again I called the telephone repair service and they said they would need to send out a technician at which time I told them a tech had already been out and couldn't do anything. The next thing I knew, I had lost the connection with whomever I was speaking to. The next thing I knew, I received an email confirming an appointment with a technician. Before the tech actually came to my home, he called and asked me some questions and after putting me on hold, came back to tell me there wasn't anything he could do and was going to elevate the problem to his supervisor who would call me. I never got a call from the supervisor but eventually was able to make contact after calling him several times as he never returned any of my phone calls. He was finally able to get the "call waiting" disabled after contacting someone in Colorado about the problem telling me that disabling call waiting was actually a 2-step process and only one step had been taken by Comcast. Okay?? Problem finally solved. However, on my next Comcast bill, I received a charge for a residential service call. I called Comcast to rectify this issue and was told they could not give me credit for this charge. I asked to speak with a supervisor who told me the same thing. I then asked to speak with that person's supervisor and was disconnected from the phone call. I don't understand why but I was often disconnected from Comcast during calls and although they always took my phone number at the beginning of the call, nobody ever called back. Anyway, it seems to me that I should not have received a charge for a residential service call since the problem was a Comcast problem to begin with and they should have corrected it free of charge. Again, I called the supervisor of the tech repair person (twice leaving a message) in hopes he could help rectify this situation but he never returned my calls.

Comcast in Los Angeles, California - Internet down for over a week and counting

Internet down for over a week so far. No explanation, just mistaken guesses from customer service. Cable (limited basic) was only out for a short time (we can't have our advertising revenue interrupted now, can we?). All this after a promotional 'speed boost' that I didn't ask for and didn't need. Many dump on concast customer service, but I've had good exchanges with them (the US based ones, primarily); it's the corporate practices of this ever growing goliath/monopoly that concern me more. This outage, with no apparent backup/fallback plan, and slow resolve has me sorely wanting alternatives. What happened to the Telecom Act "promise" of low cost high speed internet access? Id like mine UNBUNDLED and a la cart, please.

The customer is never right with Comcast

I can hardly express in words how frustrated I am with Comcast. They didn't show for the first appt (4 hour window) and took no responsibility when I called to ask where the installer was. If you can even get thru to someone on the phone, it's never anyone who has any level of authority much less intelligence, customer orientation or empathy. Finally set up new appt. Take time off from work, and guess what? No show. I call and the computer tells me he's running 3 hours late. No courtesy call, of course. At least, their consistent. Well, he's here, and on top of the $90 Internet install, he's telling me it's another $50 for wifi, which the original scheduler neglected to share. What a monopoly. What a horrible experience!

Comcast in Sacramento, California - Most imcompentent customer service I have ever see

Ordered Comcast Boost + 30mbs download speeds. Had to call them a week later to get them to actually flip the switch ot the new speed "oops I gues we overlooked it Sir". Called back a day later because was not getting close to 30 mbs. Fine. More like 19Mbs. Sat on phone for half hour why the rebooted etc. Told me to wait 24 hour. Fine. Still did not work. They sent me through same routine again. wait another 24 hours. Fine I am a patient guy. O.k. still did not work. 3rd time attemped to walk me through same B.S. After half hour of complaining they finally give me extended support #. I call extended support and they tell me that they will be charging me for this call. *** Comcast. CANCELLED! Hello, AT&T can you help with internet service?

Comcast in Sacramento, California - CHANNELS TAKEN AWAY

RE: Unauthorized Channels Acct: 8155600394266830 I have been a Comcast customer over the past couple of years and recently re-signed up as I moved into a new house in August 2012 in Sacramento, CA. When I signed up the Phone Rep put me on the Blast Channel and I specifically asked if I would get (CNN, TNT, TBS, MTV,SPIKE, A&E, ESPN) and the REP std these channels are included along with the other channels. The REP never advised me that in 6 months my bill would increase by $20 and I WAS NEVER Informed that these channels will not be authorized after 6 months. Last Friday on 2/8/13 I spent 2-3 Hours with multiple different reps and dealing with multiple different departments (Retention, Escalation, Cancellation dept ETC…). The first couple of reps std when I originally signed up the REP provided me with “FALSE INFORMATION” about what channels were included and to get my channels back I would have to upgrade. Another employee stated there was an “INTERNAL AUDIT” and I was never supposed to be getting these channels. Another rep stated that a letter was mailed out informing which channels would no longer be authorized which I never got. NONE of the reps were willing to help, understanding my situation and were just trying to up sell me into a new package. I was given wrong information from the first rep, had a $20 fee increase and Horrible customer service. IF that wasn’t enough beginning of January the modem Comcast provided me with went bad and I was out of internet for 2 weeks and had a tech come to the house to replace the Modem. If no resolution is made I will join other action suits I am seeing online and will post on Pissedconsumer.com as well as report to the Bad Business Bureau and Call Curtis so the news channel can conduct their own private investigation. I also requested a Supervisor call back and the rep std a supervisor will call me back on Friday which never occurred. When I asked to speak to a supervisor of another department the Rep std “WE DON’T HAVE ANY SUPERVISORS AVAILABLE TO TAKE YOUR PHONE CALL.” I am requesting a supervisor or upper management review my request and reply back in writing or by giving me a call.

Comcast US Goverment Sponsored Monopoly

Comcast is ripping us all off. I pay $185.00 a month to get digital TV and Internet. What should this service cost? $50.00. This goverment sponsored monoply needs to be broken up just like Ma Bell, but they pay our Senators and Congress to look the other way. I have sent letters to my Senators and they just laugh me away. Boxer and Fienstien are puppets that Comcast shovels money to to keep their monoply in place. Over the last 10 years I caculate the excessive cost billed to me is $15,000. The Comcast Internet only operates at a fraction of the claimed speed. If you want digital service for your TV the upcharges and forced packages constitue and extravant expense. If you complain they offer you a package that may be cheaper for a short period of time, however you get locked into a much more expensive package costing you even more money. We are a country of SHEEP.

Comcast in Petaluma, California - Horrible Customer Service

I had problems so I called customer service, after 25 minutes on hold I reached a live person who walked me through the process of checking my Comcast supplied modem. It was determined that I had a faulty modem. Went to local Comcast and picked up new combo modem router. For two days I had no Internet Service, no phone service but cable worked. Tech came out and fixed part of the problem but said he couldn't fix the modem unless I paid a $100 fee for the service. I refused and have called back on multiple occasions to resolve the problem to no avail. I have never had worse customer service anywhere. If you have a choice in providers choose any one but COMCAST!!!!

Have you changed your internet settings to coincide with the new router? For a tech to come out and adjust your settings you pay their fee or do it yourself. They get paid by their training and their time.

I know how to do it, and I would not drive my car and use my gas to come to your house and do it for you for free. Just because they are Comcast tech support does not mean they WORK for Comcast. They are independent contractors.

Turn off ALL your components, then check to make sure ALL connections are correct. Then turn on your computer FIRST, then the monitor, THEN the router/combo. Open your browser and see if your connection is restored. If not, post the brand and model of router here and I will help you since I do not have to drive or use my gas.

Comcast in Fresno, California - Missed 4 appointments for install

Comcast missed 4 appointments for installation. When they finally arrived they did not have the equipment to install. They were short of equipment. Then they changed my bonus for signing up from $500.00 to $300.00 at corporate customer service. Total calls to them 8. Then they sold me a movie and dinner package that never arrived. Which I will have to dispute on my credit card. Can they do something right? I don't know.They just don't care about the customer. Horrible, horrible customer service. We will never have anything to do with them in he future. I work at USPS and our service is a million times better.
