Damned Internet-based ads! | Comcast review from Mickleton, New Jersey

I am totally frustrated with Comcast and their constantly bombarding me -- and all consumers -- with *** internet-based ads. They are everywhere, all the time. I have tried stopping them myself, but nothing works, because Comcast WANTS to SHOVE these ads down our throats! I would bet all these advertisers are paying Comcast big bucks to annoy consumers with these ads. And, as we all know, Comcast could care less about its customers. We consumers pay, and pay DEARLY, for our (lousy) Comcast service. We consumers should have THE RIGHT to see, or NOT to see, the ads we want!!!!

We have had constant errors on both main box and smaller boxes on other TVs. After several service calls where techs just re-enacted what the other did, we still are sitting here watching an error code (the usual S0a00) on our great 55" digital do-everything TV. Several times they have reset something over the phone and it works for a few hours to days, then returns. One tech even told us to have the house re-wired with new cables because old ones causes issues. The only reliable thing about our Comcast is the constant errors that never really go away. I'm ready to try dish tv because paying for a very poor TV experience and these high prices has me feeling pretty gullible.

Comcast, Poor Customer Service/Technical Support

Comcast representative stated that Comcast had made many improvements in my local and most consumers were upgrading their service to the X1 Platform and lowering their bills. After much thought and promises to lower my bill by $40 a mon. I agree to move forward with the X1 installation. Quality of service went from barely acceptable to one issue after another. I am told by several Technicians and Supervisors that the initial installation was done incorrectly and the proper protocols were not followed causing signal issues with TV, Internet and phone service. Started last Sept 2015 and still exist to date. I have followed all recommendations, trouble shooting guidelines, exchanged equipment out more the 1/2 dozen times to temporary at best results and poor support at best from Comcast. I feel do the the time I have invested, on line with troubleshooting, by phone with uncaring reps and the time taken from personal & work life that my patience/frustrations have hit the limit with all the excuses. I am at this time waiting on another Tech to come out again to state the obvious...I HAVE ISSUES AT THE TAP FROM THE POLE!!!

COMCAST BE GONE!

I am the volunteer chairman of a very small charity. Comcast was billing us as a business. I complained all the way up the chain. Talk about know nothings. I'm surprised they find the way to their offices in the morning. Then someone decided to disconnect the account and replace it with a residential account. Ok I said. It took a month to disconnect then would not allow the switch because their system had the address as a business. Meanwhile we lost our phone number of 27 years because it was "disconnected". I thought AT&T was bad. Comcast should be locked up so it can't hurt anyone again.

Comsast in Pine Hill, NJ – worst customer service EVER! We’ve been using the service since March, 2016 with a modem we bought from Best Buy. Everything was fine until last week. The internet and TV has been cutting off every couple hours for several hours. We had countless calls with Comcast, who blamed everything on the modem (they said it’s because it’s not theirs), with the modem manufacturer, who could not help us either because they couldn’t establish the connection with the modem. After all those calls, we went to a Comcast office and got a modem from them and paid for the additional service. After the activation, it did not solve the problem. We called Comcast again, and after they couldn’t see the modem in the network, we requested a tech to come check everything. The next available appointment is in 8 days (!!!). Are you kidding me?! Why do you expect us to pay for your *** service or its absence for those 8 days??? Then I saw a Comcast tech coming to my neighbors (what a coincidence!) and asked him if he knows anything about service issues or why this has been happening. He said, the location we got the modem from, which is Turnersville, NJ, does not have the modems with the last software update, and that’s the reason it’s been acting up. He advised to go to Audubon or Cherry Hill and get an updated modem. So we made another trip to Turnersville to return the modem, then went to Audubon location and got another one. And guess what? It didn’t help either. Needless to say, we’re pissed off and hating to be Comcast customers. Can anybody tell me what is going on?!!

Youtube and internet problem viewing videos traced back to Comcast.

While watching Youtube on the Firefox browser, videos stopped playing. Lots of shady repair applications piled on saying, “We can help you!” They invariably can make the problem worse. I reloaded Foxfire, I re-loaded Flash and Java,..no help. Reluctantly I moved to Google Chrome. No trouble there. Not for long. Now it is happening on Chrome too. My computer is beefy and uncluttered. Finally I discovered a video that says the problem is Comcast's insufficient DNS servers and recommended moving your address over to them.. this is beyond most users. Comcast is famous for that.

Intentionally Preventing Phone Service | Comcast review from Lady Lake, Florida

I work from home and have an office VOIP phone connected to my modem. I have to use the work phone as it is linked into the office. After a discussion with Comcast regarding a 2nd modem, they learned of my phone connection. Now my phone won't work. Worked fine up until Comcast made changes on their end. The phone company can see the equipment, but no longer communicate with it. It shows up in the modem as a connected device and Netgear says there is no problem on their end. I have asked Comcast to just change the settings back and was told by one rep they had (still no phone). They continue to tell me that the 'internet' is fine so the 'phone' issue is not their problem. Bottom line they obviously don't like third party equipment and they intentionally changed the settings to prevent my use of VOIP work phone.

Not Happy at all right now Comcast. First of all your technician comes out says he can't put the service in because trees are in his way, but the trees he was asking me to cut did not seem to block him so he couldn't get me a temporary service. So first chance I get I cut them that was yesterday. Also in the mean time I receieve a bill? For What? I have nothing but I dumb app that is wrong!!! So I call back they say ok we will have someone tomorrow. I am like awesome. So I schedule the appointment then I watch my app. At first it said 1-5 then it changed to 4:30 - 5 so I am like cool I can just leave work early and meet them. Then I get a phone call at like 1:28 and 8 mins later I call right back and they resechedule me for Thursday!!!! Are you kidding the guy that I scheduled with didn't even say I had to be there? It is a temporary service why cant they hook it up while they are there and I will test it later. Yall really have some lazy technicians if you ask me. They look for any excuse to move to the next house!!! Sick of this! I understand yall are busy but I cant *** work for a four hour period, why cant you call while they are at the house????

I agree that this is a horrible,deceiving company.The promos are good only for new clients however they could less about existing customers.They are overcharging for the services and locking clients into unreasonable contracts.And please don't call,because as i was told by Customer service manager Cheryl and also representative Cheryl that nothing changes no matter who you speak,with.And as a company they have recognized a significant increase in the bill,and says I'm sorry your not happy with us and by the way if you cancel this contract you will continue to be billed ,because I'm locked into unrealistic contact.....Please Stay Away from Comcast

Comcast has poor customer service and they are dishonest. Not only was I charged for services they didn't provide. I was lied to on multiple occasions when signing up or continuing service. Each time I spoke with a customer service agent they made promises, and then later said they didn't have a record of it. It got to the point I began to record conversions and get agent numbers. When I finally returned my equipment, I made sure to get, not only a receipt, but photos and video when I returned my equipment. It's a good thing I did, they accused me of not returning equipment. They are still harassing me going on 3 months now.
