HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I SPOKE WITH A CSR FROM COMCAST IN EARLY NOVEMBER TO CANCEL MY SERVICES ON DEC 02, 2011. THEY ADVISED MY CONTRACT RAN UNTIL DECEMBER 08, 2011 AND I WOULD INCUR AN EARLY TERMINATION FEE. I AGREED TO CANCEL THEIR SERVICES ON DECEMBER 08, 2011 BUT NEEDED THEM TO PICK UP THEIR EQUIPMENT ON DECEMBER 02,2011 BECAUSE I WAS MOVING OUT OF MY APARTMENT ON THAT DATE. I AGREED TO PAY FOR THE SERVICES UNTIL DECEMBER08, 2011. THE CSR ADVISED THIS WOULD GET ME OUT OF PAYING AN EARLY TERMINATION FEE. ALL EQUIPMENT WAS RETURNED ON DECEMBER 02, 2011 AND PAID MY FINAL BILL AS USUAL, WHICH COVERED UNTIL THE 8TH. ON DECEMBER 19, 2011 I RECIEVED ANOTHER FINAL BILL STATING I OWED $52.50 FOR AN EARLY TERMINATION FEE. I INSTANTLY CALLED COMCAST AND HAVE BEEN ON HOLD FOR OVER 60 MINS WITHOUT SPEAKING TO A PERSON WHO CAN HELP ME. THE FIRST PERSON (DEBBIE)WHO ANSWERED (AFTER 30 MINS OF BEING ON HOLD) STATED SHE COULDNT HELP ME AND WOULD TRANSFER ME TO SOMEONE WHO COULD HELP RIGHT AWAY. ANOTHER 30 MINS HAVE PASSED AND I AM STILL ON HOLD. THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICES I HAVE EVER HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF DEALING WITH.

Plain and simple, Customers need to form a class action against Comcast(now Xfinity)for,

*

A- Price gouging.

*

B- Unfair business practices.

*

C- Lying to customers (Bait & Switch tactics).

*

D- Fraudulent Billing Practices.

*

E- Changing customers packages and rates without notifying customers in advance.

*

*** Forcing customers to rent equipment that they don't really need or want just to raise the customers monthly bill for service.

*

G- Forcing customers to upgrade to a higher prices service and threatening to cut service or take away features if they refuse to upgrade.

*

H- False advertising.

*

There you have it folks, 8 good and valid reasons for a class action against Comcast.

The problem is for some reason people are afraid of forming a class action against this company...

S.F. Giants game. Lost HD rep told us that they could send out a service tech for a fee.. Phoned back got a different rep who sent a signal and within 10 mins. we had the HD back..why don't you train your personal in your product and how it works. We pay an incredible amount of money for this service. No wonder why everybody is pissed off at Comcast..This is why customers are dis-satisfied with the service and are looking for better options Managment are you listening?? What does it take to get decent service in the U.S that we pay so much for.

FTC hits Comcast CEO Brian Roberts with $500,000 fine. So what he makes over 30 million per year. Brian needs to reread the Comcast code of conduct where he tells employees he will not tolerate dishonesty from us. Why is he on Obama's jobs council? He should be fired. Do as I say, not as I do. Obama's slogan about "change you can believe in" should really be "the more things change the more they stay the same".

It's worse being an employee. At the Lynnwood, WA call center a fat sup named Kim Edwards sent an email requesting off the clock work. We are winning a class action lawsuit against them. Our lawyers are experienced and successful at winning this kind of case and we have the evidence. Comcast thinks that hiring a Perkins Coie lawyer will intimidate us. Thought I was the only one...

Thought I was the only one contemplating getting rid of Comcast due to no more Universal Sports. USN was my "go-to" station...loved watching World Cup skiing. Biggest races of the year coming up these next few weeks too. Really bummed & really pissed! Seemed extreme to get rid of Comcast due to the deletion of one channel, but after reading all these posts, it feels like a good time to send a message. 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Comcast: my complaint resolved!

I've been to ticked off by Comcast for the last time. High prices racked my wallet since they were the only carrier at my complex. When they officially disconnected me I officially decided to divorce them. I called and got many rude reps. I wanted my device officially turned off. Three months later I was still getting bills even though I had paid the final balance. I called again. More rude sales associates. This time I wrote down their names and wrote a letter to corporate. I ACTUALLY GOT A WRITTEN RESPONSE from the local location. The name of department is Corporate Escalations. The address is 8505 West Tidwell Road, Houston Texas 77040. PHONE to Ashley Law is 713-895-****. Hopes this helps someone! I got all my fees removed and found out THEY OWED ME MONEY!

Customer service

I called tv was not working correctly the service rep. did not speak english well at all, I told her I could not understand her direction, and may I please have another rep. but no response so finally had to hang up and redial. next rep was fine. This has happened before calling comcast. You clearly need to hire reps that have maybe slight accents. I am sure there are plenty people out there that speak better english. It is very annoying when you have a problem, never mind trying to communicate to a rep that does not speak English very well.

Comcast sent me to collections for nothing...twice

They sent me to collections last year for $354.44. It had not yet gone on my credit and I quickly realized it was because I had cancelled my account and hadn't yet returned equipment. (Mind you this was a matter of days). I spoke to Comcast & the Collections agency and they both claimed my account was clear. My comcast account was officially closed in June 2010. I have since moved to another address and have a whole new account with Comcast (like an ***). Just received a phone call that they sent my account over AGAIN 8/8/11!!! For the same amount! Comcast is saying I have a $0 balance on all of my accounts. But they wouldn't call collections. So I called collections and patched in Comcast on a 3-way. Comcast told them I have a $0 account and the collections agency is still claiming this balance! Now it's on my credit.

Comcast customer service was so bad that I made a commitment to never consider Comcast for the remainder of my lifetime. If I am an influential grandfather someday, I will make an effort to make sure my kids and grand kids NEVER use Comcast again.

Poor phone conversations, poor response time, absolutely no respect for the customer and after proving to them that I closed my account, they still choose to bill me. Comcast and its representative are dirty dogs that deserve unemployment.

Guest

They did about the same to me. I had to move due to work, told this to the rep when I signed up and he told me not to worry since it was due to work.

Thought better of it but agreed. 9 months later, cancelled my cable and they told me there was a fee. I argued no based on what the guy said. Girl told me it would be waived.

3 months went by and I get a bill from a collections agency. Had my mail forwarded at the post office but never once got a notice. Called and got run around on both sides. Finally got to speak with a customer service manager who told me he did see that it was supposed to be waived.

Said he would see to it that it was taken care of. Still there 5 days later. Two more hours on phone with run around. Now they are hanging up on me when my hold time times out.

I plan to buy a home in the next 6 months. How is this stain on my credit going help me get a low interest rate?

Comcast is a joke.

I live in an apartment complex that is already hard wired for Comcast cable and internet. We do not have a choice...we have to use them. Also, our monthly Comcast bill is included in our monthly rent, so even if we don't have cable and internet we have to pay for it. Well...one afternoon I noticed, while watching a baseball game on my laptop, that the internet was lagging. I did everything to my laptop that could fix the problem (cleared cache, cleared history, restarted) and still nothing. I called Comcast and had them send a refresher signal to my modem. Still nothing. So I finally spoke to someone and they confirmed that the signal was weak and that they would send someone out to fix the problem in about 4 days. 4 days later Mr. Fixit shows up, and without even looking at my box he said that my wiring is absolutely faulty and that he's going to have to completely disconnect my internet and turn off all internet services until I have hired an electrician (I'm not kidding) to fix the problem. I called my apartment maintenance team and had them come up and talk to me about the wiring, and they explained that that's impossible because Comcast comes out every year to every unit to make sure that everything is still in check. On top of that, when he had disconnected my internet he also disconnected my cable, so I was without TV too. THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY TV TO BEGIN WITH! So I call them back immediately and explain what this kid did, and they did apologize but explained that nobody could be out to take care of that for about a week. One week later they send out a different fellow who plugged back in my cable and internet in the locked box outside, but couldn't figure out why my internet was still so slow. I have given up. I haven't had the time or energy to even try to get my internet speed fixed because I don't trust that they'll actually do their job. UGH. And then about every week or so my cable and internet will inexplicably go out, but I'm still paying my Comcast bill even if there's NO service. As soon as I get away from this complex I am DONE with Comcast.

Comcast does not offer service that it advertises

I went thru five cable boxes for one tv and still did not get any cable. In the time period, about two weeks with one week on vacation, I received my bill. I considered writing a check for it that may or may not have worked, much like their cable boxes. After numerous times speaking to 'technicians' both local and elsewhere, I finally had to give up. I got promises of making it work and call backs, and they are full of ***. There were a couple customer service reps who tried to help, to no avail. I worked that 30 day back guarantee and cancelled the non-service. Even after explaining that I was done and wanted to deactivate what had not been activated, they still tried to convince me they had not tried everything. They told me they understood, and still tried to convince me to not cancel. I think that was on page 16 of their manual. Needless to say, I think I can find someone else who wants my money...honestly.

No Comcast Refund

On November 18, 2011 I terminated my Comcast service and delivered the equipment to local Comcast office. Since then I have been trying to get my refund. Everytime I call I get then same story that the service will not be terminated until a serviceman goes to the pole outside my house and "cuts the wire" so to speak. That date is Jauary 6, 2012. Today is January 13, 2012 and I still don't have the refund check. They freely admit that they owe me a refund but will not send it until the wire is cut. So, they have been using my refund interest free since November 18th. Multiply that times millions of customers and they are making interest on money that is not theirs.

Comcast makes no interest off a refund if the account hasn't been disconnected at the pole yet. The system will still show a balance for services until the disco goes through and at that time credits/ adjustments are applied by the system to show the refund amount.

Agents have to look at future statements to determine your projected refund amount. Plus you should see the thousands of accounts charged off from customers who never paid what they owed or never returned equipment....

Canceled my online statement

Updated by user Jan 17, 2012

I had to keep calling because I could not get access to my account online and I could not get Comcast to mail me a paper statement, after talking to 6 people, 2 who said they were supervisors. When I received my next bill notification online and still could not login, I got on the \"chat\" communication on the Comcast site.

Told the rep I needed a line to speak to someone in a supervisory position because the reps can not help me and always end up having to open a \"ticket\". I told him if he could he should read my ticket file and then he will understand why I it is useless to speak to a rep. He asked me to hold, asked me questions (through the chat) and said he understood (after reading my tickets) and told me he will help and not open any more tickets or transfer me. After 45 minutes, Marlon J got me online under my original ID.

I had been told that I would \"never be able to use my original access ID again, that is just the way it is.\" I was also told I had to wait until my (non existent)Comcast Internet account cycled off the system before I would be able to have access again to view my monthly billing. They each said they would turn my mail statement back on so I could get my bill but none of the 10 reps ever did that either. After everything I was told about what I would never be able to do again with Comcast, by supervisors, Marlon J got me back online.

Since he is the only person there that seems to know what he is doing, he deserves to have his name mentioned. So after all else fails, Marlon J is the only one at Comcast that will be able to help you!

Original review Dec 17, 2011
I went on to pay my bill since I am a paperless statement customer and found I could not access my account. Called and was told because I am not an online customer, my access was canceled. All my problems started when I called to switch my HBO to another channel. Since then, they have taken me to the minimum channel selection, been double charged for services, been told my account has been switched to another channel selection (that never happened), received a box that I never opened (because I did not know what it was) and when I called was told I was an internet customer and the box is my equipment (am not an internet customer and never ordered), been charged for installation of the internet service that I never ordered, been promised free HBO for 6 months because of all the problems (that never happened) and now have had my online bill canceled because I am not an internet customer!

Comcast XI2go SUCKS

I got the COMCAST USB adapter, the so called XI2go or Comcast internet to go 3 months ago. The service literally sucks. You have to run a program, XFINITY, to activate the comcast USB adapter and connect to internet. That is not so unusual. The problem is that this program is constantly freezing. Everytime the screen goes to sleep the program stops and I have to constantly Ctr+Alt+Del to open the task manager, kill the XFINITY manager and restart it again. It is slow to connect to internet, sometimes it takes 1 minute, when a simple USB WiFi adapter does it in seconds. If that was not enough when I tried to cancel the service I was told that there was an early termination fee of $150, which the representative that sold me the service over the phone failed to tell me.

Comcast TV digital cable

The new requirement from Comcast digital cable is a rip-off. Comcast or the new call xfinity now are requiring the use of their cable box for every TV in your house. My family started with Comcast cable many years ago. They are offering two cable boxes per client which means now I need to rent a TV cable box and they are charging $2 dollar extra per month. My main TV has split TV which means I need now a box for my VCR plus a cable box for every other TV. For example, if you have a four bedroom house with TV in every bedroom and one in the living room and one in the kitchen (hopefully, you do not have one in the garage). You will have to rent 3 or 4 cable boxes after the two extra they give you. Nowadays most people have their main TV in the living room with all kind of equipment. This is 8 extra dollars a month that turns into $96 a year extra that I did not have to pay before. Plus their taxes you will end up paying over $100 dollars a year. We are definitely planning to change cable companies. Gladly here in Houston we have more options to change cable companies. You could go satellite TV if Comcast cable is the only company in your city. An unhappy customer

Here's what you should know if you want a vacation stop on your service.

After slogging through two live chats in search of a vacation disconnect option - it certainly isn't listed on any Comcast web site - I was finally informed that Comcast does, in fact, offer such a thing. The call center drone, Rodrigo, gave me a number to call to "take care of it". Naturally when I called that number I ended up talking to a guy on the East coast. I live in CA. Mr. East Coast, Morgan, gave me the CA call center number and when I asked him if it would take me straight to a live human being he lied and said yes. After calling it and slogging through the phone tree twice, guessing (again) which number might actually take me to the right department, I spoke with Charles. He had to go ask someone about the Seasonal Disconnect, which it turns out is now called something else. When he came back he said it wasn't available in CA!

So I'm quitting Comcast cable service while I'm gone. I'll take them their precious cable box, which is three times the size of the ones they offer in Oregon, and the remote that goes with it. When I come home I'll pay the $5 reconnect fee and resume service. When I pointed out how difficult Comcast makes it to get anywhere with a request, Charles offered me a $10 discount for 6 mos. on internet service.

This officially makes Comcast many times more difficult to deal with, let alone save money when you're going on vacation, than my local paper, garbage service, or Netflix. Like Comcast, none of these businesses have any local competitors where I live, but unlike Comcast they offer easy service and live human beings to talk to the first time you call. I guess that's because they're all too small to lobby Congress for lax regulation, or employ their spouses and kids.

Billing and change of name

I have been a client of Comcast ever since they came to Washington. They had my personal and business service. Two years ago, I canceled my personal service, they raised my rate for internet, phone and TV to $164.00 per month. I went to Dish TV and lowered my rate to $99 without internet. I tried to change the business name on my billing from the former insurance company to Lake Tapps Insurance. Nine months later it still isn't done. Caller ID on you TV, still shows the former company. I am sitting here on hold with Comcast, trying to get them to correct the problems for the 5th time. I'm not holding my breath. Comcast is not on my Christmas Wish list.
