Comcast - Customer Service is Awful

2.6
Details
We live in a duplex and have AT&T for our cable/Internet. New neighbors next door have Comcast out to install their cable. While installing it he disconnected our service. We notified him and he said he'd fix it. Some time goes by and still not fixed. We ask him to fix it before he finishes their installation so we have TV and he is better aware of what he disconnected. He then copped an attitude, used several expletives, and said he would not reconnect our service. We called Comcast. We asked for a supervisor. The man told us that it was not his responsibility and we had to call AT&T. I informed him, again, that it was HIS tech that disconnected us. He told me their techs don't know how AT&T works. Well, he certainly figured out how to disconnect it. We asked that a supervisor contact that tech or come out to the location and tell him to undo what he did and turn us back on. We were told it wasn't his responsibility and we had to call AT&T. So now we're without TV until AT&T can get a technician out here, and I'm sure there will be a charge. We initially were going to give Comcast another try when we moved here, but they sent out one tech who was clueless and a second who brought the wrong equipment. In the past when we've used them we were down regularly (both Internet and cable TV) several times every day, and twice every day we had an outage lasting 10 to 20 minutes (one between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and again between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.). We work at home and having Internet going up and down all day and then being out for 10 to 20 minutes every day twice a day was a real problem. If a representative of Comcast disconnects our service it sure should be their responsibility to fix the problem...immediately.

Comcast sucks

Comcast sucks. They are the most crooked bunch of thieves on planet earth. They manipulate billing to rip you off every way they can, from the billing cycle dates to deposits made to phony charges. Anyway they can steal they do. They bill you in advance, and charge you deposits and when you cancel your service? well you can forget about ever seeing a dime back from them, they will manipulate all kinds of *** in your billing and say they don't owe you anything or they will come up with more phony *** and tell you that you owe them money. It's amazing how in this country companies like comcast can get away with what they do to customers, but hey they have all the politicians in their pocket. Guess the old saying is true " money talks and BS walks. I hope comcast ceo's and everyone associated with comcast rots in ***.

Dishonest Comcast Billing Practices

Overall customer service has been good but the billing policies are deceptive and anti-consumer directed. We have had internet, tv, and home security for just over 12 months and the two-year rate lock guarantee has already been broken twice with two monthly bill increases. Once I was told that there was a local fee increase which was not verified by our city leaders and then Aprotection plan added to my bill ($17.75 per month) without notice to me. I am now required to keep the plan for 60 days before drooping and also pay a $60 for a house call to ultimately repair the service line. The line should be their issue to handle as the equipment they rent to me. So I have an annual bill increas of $303 without prior notice. From reading numerous (thousands) of complaints by current and former Comcast customers. Comcast internet, cable tv quality, no home security are excellent but the escalation of cost should be not be legal. In short, at the end of my contract which Comcast has already violated, is over I will do as thousands of others are doing- ending cable services. Comcast uses dishonest billing practices to raise their rates to fix their own equipment at the expense of their own customers. Since regulations were changed several years ago the cost of cable services have actually increased. Comcast is putting their own company out of business. I should have believed what so many others warned me about Comcast services. Cut the cord and the options seem to be more available than ever. 4/17

Comcast Overcharges Account, Sends To Collections With No Final Bill, Then Charges Account in Collections

1.0
Details
Long post, bear with me. #comcastfail In February of 2016 I noticed some discrepancies in my Comcast bill. It was significantly higher than it normally was, but I couldn't view and itemized bill anywhere. I called them multiple times to try to get a copy of my bill or some sort of explanation but hit multiple dead ends. Finally I learned that Comcast was not only double charging me for service, they were charging me for a cable box and HBO nonsense that I had never ordered, and had been for months. I repeatedly tried to explain this to a representative but to no avail. I was also told that I had not made a payment in months and that my attempt to settle my bill was laughable. I recorded this call and contacted my bank, who had records of the bills I had paid on my debit card. On time. Every month. The bank found Comcast to be wrong in charging me all of the extra money and credited over $400 to my account from previous payments that Comcast took and failed to post to my account. Finally fed up with the extra charges to my account and their miserable excuse for customer service, I cancelled my account in March of 2016 and requested a final itemized bill so I could formally dispute the charges. Instead of sending me a final bill, Comcast charged me more money and sent my account to two different collection agencies, Stellar Recovery and AFNI. It has sat on my credit report for almost a year and periodically I tried to get the issue resolved, which has always resulted in dead ends and derogatory remarks on the credit score that I am working so hard to raise. In October of 2016 the FCC charged Comcast a fine of over 2 million dollars for charging customers for services and equipment that they did not order. I realized I was a victim of this method of “cramming,” unknowingly paying for two accounts at the same house for a few months and then continuing to be charged for equipment and services I did not order. When I tried to correct the situation, customer service agents told me that even though they were charged a fine for illegal charges I would still have to pay for the bill I was wrongfully sent. I decided to do some research to see what my rights were. I sent letters via certified mail with return receipts to Transunion, Equifax, and Experian, as well as AFNI stating my case with copies of all the documentation I had showing that I was wrongfully charged. It was recommended that I contact AFNI to get the correct account information so I wouldn’t have to repeat this process due to error; my experience with them was even worse than the ones I had with Comcast! The agent I spoke with tried to talk over me, telling my story in their favor: “So, why would you pay for services you didn’t order?” She also spoke over me when I tried to explain that I attempted multiple times to rectify the situation with customer support but was left on hold and/or sent to a dead end. In the middle of trying to explain why I was wrongfully charged and my intent to dispute the collection, she mockingly asked me if I were reading my statement because I sounded too prepared. I cut the conversation short to avoid any further insult and again requested an itemized bill of the charges that were in collections so I could properly dispute them. I received a letter from AFNI yesterday as well as a new copy of a Comcast bill. The bill’s amount has changed drastically. Instead of acknowledging my dispute of these charges for services I did not agree to, Comcast charged my account for “Xfinity Bundled Services,” the rental fee for a modem I returned over a year ago, as well as two reactivation fees and charges for TV and cable services. An additional $77.93 was charged to my account, which is still in collections, without my permission and at an address that the company knows I no longer live at. If you have had a similar issue with this and somehow got it resolved, please let me know what you did. I’m in Michigan if that means anything. I’ve just filed a complaint with the FCC and don’t know where to go from here. TL;DR: Comcast strikes again with illegal charges for services I didn’t order. A year later they reactivated my account at an old address without my permission because I threatened to dispute.

Comcast - Changed programming without notice

Comcast - Changed programming without notice
I had set aside a weekend to watch Formula One Racing. I had setup my DVR to record practice, qualification, and the Race. The practice and qualification programs were recorded correctly. Sunday morning I checked for the race recording. It was nowhere to be found. I checked the Comcast channel listings and found that the race was not listed on any of my channels. I called Comcast "customer support". They had no idea why the Formula One race was not being broadcast. I started flipping through the channels and found that the race was being broadcast by Comcast, but under the wrong name. Comcast is a completely incompetent organization. Their customer support staff is incredibly poorly trained. Their channel listings are frequently wrong. Its hard to believe that this company can stay in business.
