Returned equipment

still getting calls that I did not return equipment when I moved out of State. I hv receipt and gave agt nos etc to prove I did return equipment. Still getting calls. Even my acct shows "returned" and zero money owed. Get with it Comcast and stop the calls. I have Comcast in Florida because I have to. Basic included in rent I pay for extra channels, phone and internet. Waiting for the first bill...this should be another wonderful experience with Comcast. Before I moved I received 3 different price quotes on what it would cost me. After all was said and done I waited till I moved and then called for extra service. Was given a price of $75.00..lol compared to $144 and $122 and another for $134. I'm waiting with baited breath to see how this turns out.

WE SHOULD HAVE A BETTER CHOICE FOR CABLE AND INTERNET AS ATT IS SLOW, CURRENTLY WAITING FOR SUPERVISOR ON HOLD HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE ATTEMPTING TO GET VOICE MAIL PROBLEMS CORRECTED FOR OVER AN HOUR COMCAST SUCKS, IT CAN NOT POSSIBLY TAKE THIS LONG TO FIND 1 ONE PERSON IN THE COMPANY WHICH CAN SOLVE A VOICE MAIL ISSUE

Told I could port my number over on a number of occassions, but looks like not possible

I spent over 3 hours on at least 4 different calls over 2 days. I was accidentally hung up on at least 3 times (they did call me back), but was already getting called back to take a Comcast survey. All I did was move and set up a new account so I could get new equipment. At the time I was told I would be assigned a new account number and a "temporary" phone number that would port over when I moved. When that didn't happen I started calling (should mostly be logged on my account). Told it had been ported, when I checked at home that evening wasn't done. Called next day and got the royal run around with every person I talked to conflicting the person before. Ended up talking to a supervisor and upon a suggestion from the tech department requested they simply forward my calls from the old number to the new. Told that wasn't possible. I must say I would leave in a second if there was another alternative but don't want to go to all the effort at this time. Will be ready to jump once a good over comes along.

Comcast- "Appointment"

Yesterday, I spoke to one of Comcast's alleged representatives. I explained that my internet modem stopped working after a very bad storm. They tried to troubleshoot it on their end but it did not work. She then says they will have to send out a technician to fix it. I agree and she "claims" she set the appointment and they should arrive between 8-10 am this morning. Well 10:30 am rolls around and no one shows. I called to ask if they were going to come out and they tell me there was no appointment and that they did not have anything available today. My only question is: how the heck are they still in business?

Comcast requested I pay a deposit for their service and once I paid the 150 dollar deposit. I called to set up and they set everything up next thing I know the TV flicks off and they tell me I didn't pay the *** deposit so I'm like I did pay wtf and they cut my service off the same day and now they automatically put me on hold when I call and now my cable still doesn't work and I'm gonna rip all this *** outta the wall and take my money else where

Comcast terrible service

I moved and unfortunately at&t didn't cover the area my new house was in, so I thought I'd try comcast. First they didn't show up during their appointment window, then had the gall to lie to me and say they showed up and no one was home. (I was home all day and left my garage open with my car in it, just so they would know I was home) Then they tell me it's gonna be 3 days until the technician could come out. When I finally do get a technician out it takes him hours to hook up the cable due to problems with comcasts servers. He never finished fixing the cable in the bed room and just left and told me to call if it didn't start working when they fixed their servers. 3 days after the install the living room cable goes out, I tried all the trouble shooting to no avail. And don't get me started on talking to their customers service reps on the phone. All in all I hate comcast, it's a terrible company with terrible customer service. Not to mention more expensive than AT&T. I really really miss AT&T, and would highly advise everyone to stay away from comcast/Xfinity.

Comcast Internet Service Review

I finally switched to bright house. Comcast could care less about customers, every time my Internet failed or was slow they had an excuse. Hold times are horrible and so are hidden fees. Twice they were supposed to send someone to check out issues and they never came!

Charged $40 for an unnecessary appointment

My problem arose because I didn't want to pay Comcast to rent their equipment. If you use your own modem or router, make sure to recognize that Comcast requires the equipment you're using to use the same MAC address you activated the service with. You can play with the internal settings to clone that address to any equipment you set up later, but they don't provide this simple information when your service suddenly cuts out. I made the mistake of letting them schedule an appointment with a tech when they couldn't resolve the issue (only though lack of trying) over the phone. I made the second mistake of thinking that because my problem was already resolved, they wouldn't charge me for the appointment. I made the third mistake of letting the tech into my apartment to fool around with the splitters for an hour. I got charged $40 for the privilege, and it sucks, but lesson learned, and hope you can find the resolution to your issue from helpful, pissed off customers instead of the greedy, heartless corporation that is Comcast.

Bad Customer Service, Bad Business

I'm not sure what to say about this company with any kind of couth what so ever, so what I will say is that this company is a scam and I will NEVER work with them again. Additionally, I would recommend that no one else work with them because they will scam you and because we need better options in this country for a non-monopoly service that has become a necessity within our society (internet options). I have been with Comcast for many many years. Both in Texas and in Oregon. They have pushed my bill through many levels of monetary values and have not held up to their promise to keep it consistent. Each month, my bill jumps from the low hundreds to above $300. This is not acceptable for customer service, which after a heated phone call with them, is apparent that they do not have. They have been calling my phone several times per day for the past week, without leaving messages. I finally took their call to find out that if I pay them $300 + dollars they are happy to keep me as a customer (last thing I heard from them is that the bill should be $106). This is not acceptable, this is not good business, this is not acceptable customer service.

So, you mean your normal bill is in the low hundreds, and when you don't pay it for a month it jumps up to double your normal bill amount? *** Comcast for you not paying your bills.

Business phone service with multiple problems

I've spent there months trying to get Comcast to fix our problem with no avail. They had originally listed our business number incorrectly. Now its listed in phone books and internet search/directory assistance companies wrong. They don't even have me listed with Comcast directory assistance. They take no responsibility for this by claiming they have now sent the correct info and now its up to the other companies to update their records. If they hadn't sent out the wrong number originally this wouldn't be a problem. I'm losing money everyday as half my customer are getting the wrong number. We are a start up company and this has greatly affected a business. Additionally there have been several outages and issues with our lines and the other businesses in our building being lines crossed and turned off and on by mistake. It is apparent that they don't have a handle on their service and are not up to par yet with some of the others. Not to be trusted for professional use.

Need death certificate to terminate service

Dad died 3 years ago. Mom did not change service to her name.

She just died. Comcast wants the death certificate for Dad... wont terminate service without it. called 14 times, got through the call routing just to have the calls abruptly end.

wonder if I was adding service if the call would actually route to a live person!

by the way, the social security service, Verizon, IRS and other businesses did not need a death certificate of either Mom or Dad. There is no state law, just a ploy to continue to bill for a service that has not been terminated!

How do you turn off Comcast service due to the death of the customer?????

we’re not talking about a bank account. It’s internet and tv.

Yes it’s a ridiculous request!!! Death certificate has social security numbers and personal information how person dies.

Obviously, you haven’t experienced that... one day you’ll

Guest

There's a reason a death certificate exists, to prove someone is dead. This is obviously used to prevent someone from, as "why not" stated, cancelling services/changing services for someone else.

I'm sorry someone in your family has died but you're being ridiculous if you think that this is an unacceptable practice by Comcast.

This is usually done to protect the customer and their account. If I ran a company that provided a monthly/weekly/whateverly service I'd do the same thing, no matter the inconvenience.

***. They only verify phone#, name, address, and last 4 digits of your SSS# to change any kind of service. If you ran a company, you'd be out of business in no time.

We just went through the customer service 90 minute nightmare, in regard to cancelling my mother-in-law's Camcast service. The phone people required the death certificate....blah blah blah.

Searching around the internet and found that email address. We also have Comcast and the same last name. I used our Comcast email address and sent the request to cancel. Next day a NICE person called, cancelled the account and told us where to drop off equipment.

I can now see why they make people jump through hoops to verify, seeing all those scammers out there. Satisfied here

This person must work for them or in customer service someplace else. The account number ,ssi#, or previous payment amount should be enough. But who are we and since when does the customers ever really matter

Josalyn Boh

I had a similar experience when my sister died. All I did was have a women call Comcast phone support with the proper information, and have myself put on the account as soemone who ca make changes.

I waited a few days, called them to make sure I was on the account, then went to the service center with the equipment and turned it in and canceled the service. When they asked why, I responded that she could no longer afford it.

.

Maybe a bit unethical. But really? A death certificate?

The family was fuming over this. It only took me a few days to solve it.

Guest

I had to supply my dads desth vertificate for every account for anything i csncelled in my fathers name...electric, dish network, car insurance...u name it. It required a death certificate.

Anyone can call somewhere and clsim the account holder is deceased ...people do it out of spite...or even out of bills, because some companies will let the latest bill be forgiven in the event of death, some will even erase all owed debt.

Heck recently refinanced my home and i had to supply my fathers death certificate as proof that inherited and sold his house 9 years ago. The wanyed to know why i had a house to sell with no record of buying one.

Guest

I am no fan of Comcast but this is the stupidest thing I have ever heard... they are so suspicious of everything... they need to become their own customers for a while and maybe they will get a clue...

Wifi stopped working

The wifi in my house only works on the first floor. I called comcast they said they would send the right router out since the one i had didn't work for my house. It got here and it was the same one i had, so i called again just to wait for hours and get transferred around the world a million and one times and they tell me they will send the right router but it gets here and its the wrong one again. Called them back and get lied to again that they will send the right one. Once again they send the wrong box. Called at least two more times to have the right box sent to me and they were wrong when they got here. I call for the last time i speak with someone who sounds like they knew what they were talking about, he said he will email the store near me that i would be coming to pick the router up, he said they had 18 there. I get there and the guy laughs at me saying they cant email and that they had zero of the routers there. I asked him what to do since nobody could help me and my wifi still doesnt work. His answer to me was that he didt have an answer for me and basically go *** myself. This is the WORST company in the world.

A MONTH AND COUNTING WITH BAD CABLE SERVICE

On May 17,2014 my cable begin to get error message on several stations. Comcast did their troubleshooting process and it did not fix the issue. A tech came out days later and replace the box with a Cisco box -- this started the a new issue. The stations would freeze or blackout and on demand continued to get error messages telling me to turn the box off and on again. I took the box to a Comcast location to get a replacement and the that box did the same thing. A tech was scheduled to come out twice and did not show up after I had rushed home from work. They did not even call and when I called them I would get another country which led to communication issues -- it was and still is a nightmare. As of today, June 17, 2014, my cable is still not working properly and Comcast does not seem to care. I told them I could not *** again for them not to show up and to please schedule it for a Saturday. Their answer was "we don't have any Saturday available". I am so done....
