Comcast service

I currently subscribe to Comcast cable, phone, and Internet service. Comcast without a doubt has been the worst provider that I have ever used. I have been a Comcast customer for just under 2 years and have just called to log my sixth service call. This latest call is the result of the fact that Comcast shipped me a new cable box that was defective straight out of the box. Over the previous two years I have had numerous problems with my phone, Internet and cable. In fact less than two weeks ago I had to call customer service because my phone service died. As a comparison in a previous city I subscribed to Cox Communication and had possibly two service issues in 10 years. As a customer who pays well over $200 per month I feel that I should be receiving significantly better service.

Comcast has no respect for its customers

In addition to all the post about Comcast's lousy customer service, they manage to simultaneously disrespect their customers and shirk their local broadcast duties. They have this thing called "Newsmakers" that is five minutes of interviews on some local topic. Nice idea, right? Sure, if they gave it its own time slot or its own channel. But being Comcast and not giving a *** about their customers, what they do instead is to shoehorn it into the last five minutes of each half hour of some unlucky one-hour show. I've seen in on Joy Behar, Showbiz Tonight, and Dr. Drew, and who knows where else they do it. What it means is that if you watch or Tivo the show, you get to 25 after or 5 to the hour, and -- poof! -- no show! Instead, you see five minutes of some totally random Newsmakers interview stuck into where you were expecting to see more of your show. The five minutes are not delayed, they are GONE. And it's not just on one showing, but on every broadcast of that episode. This is so amazingly disrespectful of all concerned -- of the producers and broadcasters of the show, of the viewers, and even of the Newsmakers people (it's hard not to resent them even though it's not their fault that their broadcast interrupts other programming that it's hard to believe that any vendor would do it. Seems like Comcast is just so big that it does whatever it wants, with no regard to the customer's experience. I wish I had an alternative because I would love to see Comcast go bust.

BAD customer service. you can upgrade service online, but you ca nnot downgrade online.

i tried to sign up for performance internet online for $19.99/month. i went through all the steps and eventually hit the "submit" button. instead of approving the downgraded service, i was sent to online chat with their rep. they told me that they don't have authority to downgrade service.

they can only upgrade. once i closed the chat window, my order disappeared.

i'm planning to get rid of my phone service and cable TV with them. i'm just tired with dealing with these guys.

Comcast raising pirces again

I reside in South Berwick, Maine. Again, Comcast increased prices. This company has a monopoly. They claim to offer numerous channels; however, many of the channels are duplicates. Comcast's "free" movies are loaded with commercials. In some cases, have the program time consists of commercials. I will attend our next town meeting and question the price increases among other issues. For the life of me, I don' know why the FTC approved Comcast's purchase of NBC. I guess that the government and large coroporations are in bed with each other. I am curious as to what U. S. Congress meberss and Senatorsthat comcast made contributions to their political campaigns. The plutocracy just gets stronger, and the average person just keeps paying. When will it end? Thank you. So angry about my comcast installed. When I asked him about boot covers he said he did not have any and just kept comming in tracking his dirty work boots all over my new off white carpet. Should have thrown the *** out of the house but I needed to get the internet. Never will I ever have comcast ever again. I had to pay 80 bucks for the install and 3000 for carpet, love the carpet hate comcast. So rude to just disreguard my request not to walk with his dirty boots on my new carpet. My wishes were just not important to this company

Comcast-Corrupt Monopoly

I currently have comcast, and I hate it. Comcast is such a Monopoly it is ridiculous. Well, why do you have comcast if you hate it, Michelle(Me)? Honest answer? Because there are no other bloody cable/internet providers in my area! It's ridiculous! Even my school-dorm-ish-situation corrupted me into getting comcast (I'm a college student). When I moved into the dorms they had a comcast guy on the first floor, advertising and selling internet and cable subscriptions to unknowing new-college-teenagers. The $60 a month for 6's months is what screwed me over as a new coming student. DON'T DO IT NEW STUDENTS! I started with $60 dollars, and now I'm paying over $100+, plus late fees, because they never send me their billing statements on time. Not to mention over half of my channels don't come in, and my internet goes out every other day or so. Comcast is awful... I can't afford this ***. I am looking into changing services. If you've seen this before it's because I'm so upset I'm posting this everywhere...

Michelle, I totally understand and feel your disgust for Comcast what a racket, poor service,terrible customer service when trying to get a situation straighten out,there's no communication between the departments. I had them for approx.

3wks and it was one problem after another, countless hours, yes hours on the phone. I finally said enough is enough, made one last phone call to Comcast, chewed them a new one and took all there *** equipment and turned it in. Well I to needed cable and internet, shopped around and went with Cricket Broadband for my internet and Dish Network for my cable. I know u said ur in a dorm so installing a dish poses a problem, but if u look into Cricket or perhaps another broadband service using a usb data modem, u will be forever happy.

I can even watch TV on my computer now and I can take my usb data modem with me and use it in another computer or with my laptop. Look into and tell comcast to pack sand!!!!

Comcast in Battle Creek, Michigan - Service. I am fed up with losing internet and phone service Everytime it Rains and Snows.

If their was another service available, it would be to my best interest to look into changing. This issue has Not been remedied for years. Very Poor service for the amount of money being payed to a company that cares more for the money being received than from where there money is coming from. It would seem after all the complaints issued Comcast would care enough to correct the problems and create better customer service. Even though Comcast advertises good customer service they are very far from accomplishing that goal. I strongly suggest Comcast works diligently on achieving that goal.

I have the same problem with them! It is so frustrating!!

I usually wait before I call customer service as well, the last time I called the woman actually hung up on me!! It's unbelievable that they can get away with this. I hope Fios expands so that comcast learns some competition.

They are beyond disgusting when it comes to hidden fees, customer service and providing service that actually works.

I'm thinking of canceling my service and just going with netflix or roku.

COMCAST...customer service....not

I have logged 458 hours on my cell phone to comcast since 12/9/10. The service is rude, they lie and do not show up as promised. I have now been without t.v. for 10 days and they may show up on Friday. My options are limited as I can not have a dish where I live. This is the absolute worst ustomer service I have ever experienced. Why are they allowed to remain in business. I am writing to my congressman about the continual problems. Anyone have any better idea other than to find a new company and not pay the bill?

Comcast in Seattle, Washington - Not able to downgrade service

I am really disappointed in Comcast's customer service line. The first two times we called to downgrade our cable service we were disconnected as soon as we pressed "downgrade." The third time, we were placed on hold for more than 2 hours before we gave up. The fourth time, we were disconnected again. The fifth time, I pressed "upgrade service" and I was immediately given a representative. Unfortunately, the call was dropped again when I mentioned we were looking to downgrade. Since then we have tried calling three more times and all were disconnected. This has all been today. I am really, really disappointed in this service. It is unprofessional, unkind, and inconsiderate to the people who are paying for this product and shows a complete lack of respect for Comcast customers. Whoever has decided "by ignoring your customers you will better serve them" should rethink their business strategy. We are now seriously considering canceling our service altogether.

FTC hits Comcast CEO Brian Roberts with $500,000 fine. So what he makes over 30 million per year.

Brian needs to reread the Comcast code of conduct where he tells employees he will not tolerate dishonesty from us. Why is he on Obama's jobs council? He should be fired. Do as I say, not as I do.

Obama's slogan about "change you can believe in" should really be "the more things change the more they stay the same".

It's worse being an employee. At the Lynnwood, WA call center a fat sup named Kim Edwards sent an email requesting off the clock work. We are winning a class action lawsuit against them.

Our lawyers are experienced and successful at winning this kind of case and we have the evidence.

Comcast thinks that hiring a Perkins Coie lawyer will intimidate us. It just proves that they know they are going down and have a lot of money to waste.

The same thing has happened to me.I have called three different months right after paying our bill to downgrade and they said I couldn't do it until I made another payment. They will not let us do it. I am thinking of reporting them.

I agree!! They are horrible.

They told me that they had to transfer me that no could help me with a down grade. They raise their prices so high no one can afford to stay on the plan. They were very rude and have no respect for their customers. I have a friend who was trying to sign up for cable and tv and they have truly given her the run around.

They have given her 4 different prices, and that is after she went online and found a price for 69.99 and now they are saying that it will be 130.00?!?! They are crazy!! What a ripoff.

It would be better to go with att or satellite. Save yourself the hassle.

Comcast- crooks and liars

We've had Comcast for about 2 years now. It's been constant problems with the phone and the internet going out for a couple of minutes to several hours. Our voice mail hasn't worked correctly for over a year, and they can't seem to fix it. Yesterday, we had a tech out here again, who swore up and down he fixed the problem. He gave me his name, and his personal extension number and said call him if there were anymore problems. Internet and phone went out again, so when they came back up, I called, and he flat out lied about coming to our house. Said he was never here. He has the same last name as my mother's maiden name. We talked about that, then he tried to say he talked to me on the phone about that, when we had talked face to face at my house. Soon as I can, I'm getting a different internet, phone, and cable provider. Tired of Comcast's lies, deception, and bad customer service.
