Comcast New Box Killed Internet & TV

We just got 5 boxes today as we were told it was now required, and non of them work, all 5 do not work, there is an error messege that shows up and now our internet is dead. Between my father and husband they were on the phone with comcast for a total of 4 HOURS. My father was asked by someone to give the serial # from our modem and computer and ever since then the internet has been dead. They were asked about various serial numbers from various departments, everything has been "registered' and on top of that they were told it would take a total of 20 minutes PER cable box to set up. WTF?!?!?!? Now the cable boxes won't shut off, we have no tv and no internet AND they were told that they could schedule a service request for TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. UM TODAY IS FRIDAY !!!!! We are paying for a service that we are not getting, how is next tuesday an acceptable appointment?!? Why would it not be a next day service appointment?!?!? Its obviously something that comcast did wrong on their end, how could we have 5 bad boxes, plus the internet should have nothing to do with the cable box. It would be one thing if our service was knocked out due to weather,etc and there were a lot of customers that needed their service fixed, but this is clearly a 'Comcast sucks at life' issue. And apparently if we unhook the box and just run a plain cable line to the tv it works, so again, I say, WTF COMCAST!!!!!

Don't choose comcast

Comcast is the worst cable company. I can not tell you the amount of hours i have spent with billing issues and technical problems. Most recently, i canceled HBO to lower my bill. No one informed me that this would "unbundle" my services, actually raising my bill by more than $50 a month! Now, i call and they tell me there is nothing they can do! i am told to call "customer loyalty" who alsosay there is nothing they can do. I am only loyal becuase i have no choice, there is no other options for cable in my area.

I went to my on demand today and found that half the library is missing, all I wanted was to watch a favorite program on the discovery channel choices , well ...it wasn't there to be found anywhere, I know sometimes they update their selections, but it is absolutely rediculous that I called and got no answers and decided to ask the live chat, and after three times absolutely no one could have an answer, a simple answer for my tiny little question of "what have you done with your on demand choices?"Why doesn't comcast know what is going on with their on demand contents? Are those even real people who you are chatting to? The reason I am so upset is because I pay alot for our service and when I have a concern, I think I deserve a decent answer or to be connected to someone who knows,i dont understand why someone cant say if they are updating some of the folders but instead they tried to send a signal to my box, and my on demand library, blame my bill,and so on.Unbelievable

Comcast over charged my account

Comcast over charged my account and when i got in contact with them they told me there is nothing they can do for the next 7-10 business days. Now keep in mind my bill was $97.84 and they charged my card $343. No i have other bills to pay, no food or gas in my car and they telling me an *** out of luck. When asked to fax a report of incident to my bank so they could clear it in 6 hours instead they blatantly told me NO. And this is after i called at first and they told me call back because they computer not working, i asked to be transferred and they told me they can't do that either because the phones not working. I called back and they had me on hold for 10 min at a time. I am sooo disappointed in comcast it's *** ridiculous.

Never use a credit card when paying Comcast because all the employees have access to it. If you ever stop by their office, you will undertand why.

They are all uncoordinated and so slow hoping customers will give up and walk away. Join Netflix and put up an outside antenna for digital channels.

When I signed up with them I was quoted 159.00 for all my package , including everything I wanted, from that day on...I never saw a bill for less than 195.00, I pay ten dollars a month for the hole in my wall where the phone jack connects to the modem.REALLY???? After getting no help from them today for a simple question..I'm so disappointed in them ...booo

Comcast, don't waste your time and money.

Comcast will do anything to get your service and when it sucks they are shocked that you prefer Verizon Fios (which is awesome). When I switched they called me nonstop for 2 weeks asking why I don't want their *** service that hardly ever works. Once you do finally get rid of it they will still charge you for several months after you no longer have their products. The crazy thing is the customer service representative told me that I should be getting a check in the mail from them for overpaying, all I got was another bill. If you can get service from ANYONE else I strongly advise it.

Let me tell you, Comcast is the very best company that I have used and I havae had them all. For starters, "Fios" is a scam, as fiber optics or "Fios" have been around since the 90's and all cable companies use "Fios".

Verizon makes you think they are superior by having fiber optics, but in reality they are only using something everyone else has been using for years. People like you fall for this stuff, so don't be overly-hasty in condemning Comcast just because you can't or won't pay your bill on time.

Comcast did nothing to help fix my computer, and they're taking my money!

Annually, comcast has never been able to fully satisfy me in my needs of webbing the internet, facebook, online gaming. Every year, we call, every year, we get screwed. I really don't think Comcast can help fix our situation, because they're all *** While we call, we get charged, when we get charged, they give us nothing in return. Wasting my money on comcast isn't satisfying me anymore, so I think I'm going to take a picture with my middle finger on it, and send it to every comcast employee. I really hope I can live a little longer to do so. Comcast's service sucks, and they'll only waste people's money.

Comcast never helped me fix computer problems because they always would say that it is something on my end. It is always nice to prove them wrong and have them say " oh i just worded it wrong" That is one of the best feelings in the world and thats why i dont use comcast anymore

Comcast in Mount Laurel, New Jersey - Digital compression I presume

I have a HD Digital and Analog TV tuner in my desktop. I used this setup for local Clear Qam (non-encrypted) HD channels.All major over the air HD (Terrestrial Antenna) is all that is being broadcast now.Living in Fredericksburg Va. meant that I received 4.1,4.2,4.3,5.1,7.1,7.2,7.3,89.1,9.2,26.1,26.2,26.3,26.4,50.1,50.2,and 50.3 all in 1080p plus I could use windows media center as a dvr and the analog stations (they s_cked).Now I have a little piece of s_it that broadcast in 480i and can't record HD.My internet service has been down over 100 times in 18 months.My cable service is a little better.I assume(LOL first three letters I am)they encrypted and compressed their basic service. They did it so us po folk can give them more bandwidth for them upper class people(mo money).As far as theft goes if you had a strong enough signal which I personally doubt, you could let your neighbor(Town home or apartment)use basic unencrypted because they can not see that signal on there system. john_wheeler@comcast.net

Part of the problem may be the absence of competition.  The major cable players - Comcast, Time Warner, Cablevision – agreed to divide up the country among themselves.  They do not compete in any of the top 25 metropolitan areas except New York (and there's a little competition in DC). The cable companies raise rates at will and mistreat their customers because the customers have no where else to go. I'm doing this while I am on hold, been on hold off and on since 6pm it is now 10pm talked to 6 people and been disconnected once this all started at 3pm yesterday when comcast changed their line up They say my problem will not be fixed for 5 to 7 days and now they want me to pay for an other box. they won't let me use a box while they fix the problem I have to pay for the box for one month. P.S. I just got discounted again!

Monoply would mean you have absolutely no other choice when in fact you do. You can go back to AOL and call DTV.

Then you would have 56k and no TV at all when it rains or snows. If you want to complain about price hikes start calling the networks.

Or not call for a service call when your dog chews through your cable line,or when your kid kicks there feet under the desk and unplugs the modem,and stop digging in your yard knowing you have burried lines,or you watch a DVD and 4get to change the input back to cable,or ur remote stops working and u havent checked the batteries,or ur pc still runs win98 and u cant get online,or ur TV wont power up but u just assume its the cable.

Now seriously I see alot of these on here not that any the above you have done in your life but you wonder why the cable bill keeps moving up those are just a few of the reasons.

Comcast in Winchester, Virginia - Changed my two contract on bundled services

Beware of COMCAST special offers and promo...Clarify well the services they are going to offer.They suggest a two year contract on a bundled package and then they turn around after three months and start billing you extra for supposedly 'expired promotional services after three months '.When you complain TO THE ACCOUNTS DEPT OR REPRESENTATIVE about the extra charges they remove certain part of the package and tell you that you were never on a contract.I foolishly took up a package in December 2010 and in March I was being charged $29 extra supposedly for HBO.Youd think a big company like that wouldnt produce scams...think well

Harassed By Comcast

Hello. I am tired of working with Comcast. (No I am not a costumer, and at this point never will be). Here is the issue. In a 6 week span, I ha been harassed by Comcast with 14 mailings asking me to join them. Now, dont get me wrong. I have been trying for the past 9 months to be removed from thier mail lists. It is just getting even worse. What will it take to tell them to STOP. I do not want their service (it sucks) and I do not want their mailings in my mail box. (Any of the 8 different ways they are spelling my name).

Jenny, notice that the guy had been trying for 9 months to be removed...Just saying he might have tried working with them to start with. But agree, you must work for them....to then badmouth the person who complains. Please read everything the guy wrote before going off on him.
