Comcast did WHAT???

So, after 15 minutes on the phone with a Comcast service agent, I find out they want the last 4 of my SS#, just to send someone out?! I give them the #s and hear some mumbled reply... and am disconnected 15s later?? I call back after a half hour, having waited first because I thought we were accidentally disconnected and the service agent would call back. I find out when I get the new agent that the 4 SS digits DO NOT MATCH what they have on file, so they won't send anybody out!!! First off, we've had people from Comcast come out before, and never even needed SS#s. So now they've changed their policy and for god knows what reason have wrong information in our file... and I HAVE to fix their mistake?!! I need to waste my time and stand in line at one of their local storefronts with hat (and SS card) in hand, in order to prove what my social security number is?!!???!!!? Something they shouldn't need in the first place. Alll on top of us having the same account for almost 10 @^$^@# years (though TimeWarner traded the area to Comcast somewhere in there). What *** at Comcast thought this up in the first place? It's always been fine in the past to just call our home. For some reason they can't doubt the SS# information is wrong, but they must outright assume the home phone number on file isn't correct, or they could just call us and verify an appointment! Wouldn't be so bad if the phone agent had any leeway, but according to them, it's ironclad and not a thing they can do until I guess what 4 incorrect #s they have on file, or make a special trip to correct their error, in enforcement of a policy that makes no sense in the first place.

Comcast Sucks!!

Paid my bill online 11 days before due date - was going on vacation. Comcast sends letter 7 days after I made payment saying my bank wouldn't authorize the charge and that I owe a 30.00- that I must have put in the account number wrong. Took them 7 days to send the letter saying it didn't go through + 5 days to get here = one day late!! Will have that fee also!! The real kicker is that this was the first time I had made a real payment - I had a credit of over 125.00 because they had overcharged me so much on my first bill. They admitted that they had screwed up but said I needed to pay the whole bill because they couldn't change it - I would *** have a 2 and a half month credit. I should have ran far far away at that time. Spent two hours on the phone with them and my bank. My bank says they never tried to access my account. I call Comcast back (4th time) to explain what bank said and get the we don't give a flip response so I ask to be transferred to the disconnect department. They said they were sorry that it had "just closed". I had read all the bad reviews before I joined. What was I thinking. The money is not the issue I wasted way more of my time on the phone than that little bit of money. It is the principal and if we don't stop letting these companies keep screwing us it will only continue to get worse.

I used to be a CAE at Lynnwood,WA Tech Repair call center. Comcast Cares Day is a joke.

You had to use a vacation day to participate in the HARD PHYSICAL LABOR VOLUNTEER SERVICE DAY.

Comcast Cares...but not much.

Comcast Cares...about $$$. If you want discounts call the 800 phone number and ask for the retention department.

Comcast Prices are Exorbitant

My mother is retired and on a very limted income. The mimimum monthly price for programming for 1 HD TV (and NO DVR) was almost $80 through Comcast. She lives in retirment apartments, so Comcast was her ONLY choice. For those of you (or those with family members) in the same situation, I recommend getting an TV antenna (I bought a Mohu Leaf and it works great). All the signals are digital, so it's nothing like the rabbit ear days of old and you can get all your local TV channels FREE in HD. If you go to the FCC website (http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/maps/) you can see what stations you could receive in your area. I cancelled my mother's Comcast service and am now saving her over $800 a year. PS If you're a little more tech savvy (unlike my elderly mother) and have an internet connection you can augment your content with a streaming device (Roku, Boxee Box, Playstation etc) and say goodbye to Comcast or any other overly expensive cable/dish provider.

I used to work for Comcast, well indirectly. See, Comcast has a lot of 'third-party' call centers hence why you somehow get a representative from a random state instead of your own sometimes. Anyhow, seeing how the company tends to screw over so many people,...

Comcast Bate & Switch

I called Comcast to see what could be done about my monthly bill - its up to $171 - for the basic, Triple Play. The customer rep Roel on the "Online Chat" venue, was very friendly, and asked if I could wait a few minutes while pulled my account and checked available deals. After quite some time, he returned stating he had found a Triple Play deal for $99/mo + $7/mo equipment, charge for a year and asked if that would be OK? I said yes, and asked what needed to be done to sign up. He said nothing, that he could take care of it in a few minutes, would I like to wait? So, as I waited - again for quite awhile - he processed the order. He then came back on line and said he had something to tell me. That when he went to sign me up, he had been told the deal was no longer available, but that there was another deal $104 +$7/mo. My response was no. That he had offered me a deal at a specific price, and that I had accepted. Anything different was Bate and Switch. There's an underlying principal of integrity, or lack thereof. Cable companies are notorious for nickel and diming their customers, and this was no different. He made me an offer, I accepted and then he rescinded - offering me a new, more expensive deal.

Seems to be a part of their "productivity" improvement in the Online Customer Service Dept.

Same thing happened when we tried to order the triple play.....told me the offer had expired at the same time I was reading the offer on the Comcast Website. It even said that the offer would expire....two weeks from the day I was talking to them.

Do yourself a favor and take your bill to the local Comcast Xfinity Store and they will not only honor the deal that you paid for but will give you a store discount. It seems that all the online offers can be beat by store offers and the CS people in the stores are great to work with, aren't trying to scam people.

I hope none of you ever get into a car accident with one of Comcast's vehicles. Please read.

My home has been with Comcast's service for quite some time now, and we have been very content with it. However, I was in a car accident with one of their drivers, and I have to say that I am extremely disappointed with the insurance agency this company uses. Liberty Mutual is the worst insurance agency I have ever had to deal with in my life. They fail to contact me or reply to both my calls and my insurance agency's calls time and time again. Their adjustor refuses to speak with any of us. Liberty Mutual insurance is an absolute joke. For Comcast being such a reputable company, I am worried that this insurance company is going to negatively impact Comcast. I would highly recommend switching insurance companies as soon as possible. Never in my life have I ever dealt with such terrible customer service thanks to Liberty Mutual. I feel sorry for the next person who gets into a car accident with one of Comcast's company vehicles.

Comcast Doesn't pay it's promised switching fee!

I got a knock on the door one day by comcast promoting double play and triple play packages and offering 100-200 dollars to switch and lower monthly fees for a year. Having experienced Comcasts lousy service before I hesitated. After crunching the numbers I figured I'd give them a year then return to Dish (which is superior in so many ways) They were late by over 6 hours on two occasions so there is another promised 40.00....it's all bull. they prorate their bills so the 1st month you are billed 2x's and even in reality you are a month ahead and they are sitting on your money they have the stones to try and charge a late fee. Nearly a year later and dozens of calls I've gotten nothing from them! Even worse it's a practice I know several other people with the same problem. Even worse they owe me the money or credit and if you resist paying your bill out of protest until they fix the issue if your bill is "past due" (remember it's a month ahead) you can't speak to a rep only billing. COMCAST IS THE WORST

Comcast, horriblehorriblehorrible!

This is the worst internet provider I have ever chosen. Occasionally, the internet connection is fine, but frequently there are a wide scale of problems. Recently it has taken six times the normal time or more to load a video on any site. Gaming online is now impossible due to the mountain of lag. I'm positive it is not my computer, because I have scanned it several times and restarted it, but nothing changed. Another computer in the same house is having the exact same problems. I do not recommend Comcast to anybody. It took me forever to go through Google to get to this site due to the slow loading, but I felt writing this review would be worth it before I give up on it again for the night. *** you Comcast, *** you.
