Comcast - Receiving 1/4 of what we are paying for
We are currently paying Comcast $79/month for internet that is supposed to be 20mb/s download, and a 5mb/s upload. The speed is constantly way lower than what we are paying for. Ran a few speed test's over the course of the day, and on average we receive about a 3.7mb/s down and a 3mb/s upload. With periods to where the speed is about .78 mb/s which is unacceptable. We called the technician out, and was charged $20. All he did was tighten a few cables. Reset the router by turning it on and off. Then said he would have to send some people out during the day to fix it. It has been a week since his visit, and they haven't shown up. If you read this and are thinking about getting Comcast DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GET IT NO MATTER HOW MUCH *** THEY THROW AT YOU!!!

They'll never show up unless you call them 3 or 4 times then they might.

Your ping is insane. A connection somewhere is no good. Could be a splitter in the attic or something else.

If it's a wireless comcast router, connect it directly to your computer via ethernet cable and retest, good results ? get a new router if not , cancel the service and switch.

I had this problem, they had to run a new line to my house. Also, if you are in a very population dense area high traffic will slow down the speeds.

Comcast in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Call center and appointment keeping

Called and got xfinity internet services, was given a date and a window of when to expect techincan to come amd set it up. No one ever came or called and I spoke to several people still nothing. Was given another date and window, same thing, no call no show. At my job that leads to a termination, and I bet if I had the service and was late on a bill, they would be all over me. Looking at other internet providers. You couldnt pay me to get their internet now. Will NEVER get anything that has to do witn comcast and Im telling EVERYONE I know to do the same. Oh yeah missed two days of work waiting around, they should pay me back.

You are soooo right about the "late bill paying". When they mess things up which they always do, they just "apolojize and slips away but if a customer makes a slight mistake, they make customers pay for that. I hate how these crooks get away with things like these...

Worst technicians ever. Have called comcast 4 times to get my lagging Internet service fixed. All the technician that have come to fix the problem say"its to big we have to come back. We have to rewire everything its an all day job. " never to be seen again.on my 5 technician for this friday at 8. Bitched at eveybody from Kentucky to the Phillipines.Will cancel them if they dont repair it right.

Absolute worst company we have ever worked with both personally and professionally. The medical clinic I work at just moved locations. We were told that it would take 3-5 business days for our number to be ported over to the new location and took that into account when we planned our move so that we would not be without a phone and have to inconvenience our patients. it has now been three weeks at our new location and we still do not have a phone. It took them almost a week just to set up internet. Comcast keeps giving us ridiculous reasons why it is taking so long. When we told the customer service department that we were told it would only take 3-5 days to port the number, they said that nobody would have told us that and that it could take up to 18 DAYS to port a number. Are you kidding me?! We are sitting here losing business and getting angry patients because we have no means of communication aside from our cell phones which we aren't even supposed to use. Now they told us that next Wednesday we will have a phone but I'm not holding my breath. But you best bet that even though we aren't able to use their services, we are paying for them. We just received a bill for cable/phone/internet which we haven/t even been able to use. Kudos to you Comcast for having the worst service we have ever experienced. Gold star.

Comcast internet sucks. No other way of putting it. Half the month its laggy, nights it goes out so their *** router/modem combo can update itself with pointless *** (which just makes it work worse till the next needless self-update) and then when u finally have had enough and get a service person to come look at whats going on they cant find anything wrong. Im done with this company and urge anyone else reading this to stay away.

Comcast - Billing Department Review from Fayetteville, North Carolina

Paid my bill on Halloween ; Comcast turned of my Internet on November 10th. They have no record of my payment, even though I have the confirmation number, bank statement showing the money withdrawn, and a recording of me making the payment by phone. Spent over an hour being transferred from department to department last night. Was told to fax my bank statement over. Following up today resulted in being told I have to go to their local office and talk to someone there to resolve the issue. Which means taking at least 2 hours off work. When asked to speak to a supervisor, was told the supervisor was gone for the evening. When asked to be transferred to a different department, was told only supervisors can transfer calls. I truly wish I could get any other ISP but Comcast has a monopoly in this neighborhood.

Comcast cut off my service. When I contacted them I was told I needed a new box. I ordered the box that never came. I managed to get another but it wouldn't connect. There rep tried to get it to work and couldn't. They then sent out a technician who had to remove a filter from the pole. He managed to get it working. I then got a bill for $50 for the service call-$20 to remove the filter and $30 to hook it up inside. When I complained they offered to cancel the filter charge but not the hook-up fee. They never even did the hook-up since I had done that previously myself when I couldn't get it to work. I previously had 3 tv's working. When they required me to get new boxes I had to pay $3 for each one increasing my bill by $9 per month. This whole thing was a scam to increase the monthly fee. When I contacted them and explained the problem they would not offer me any compensation for my trouble or even cancel the service charge which had nothing to do with me. I spoke with a manager to try to get the service charge cancelled - he was totally uncooperative. I have now cancelled their service and am switching to Directv which offered me a better package at a cheaper rate.

They don't care at all out their customers. Promotion was up. They called and offered me new service. Spent an hour negotiating a new deal. Then Missed 3 installation appointments. They never even called to say they weren't coming. Spent over an hour on hold to reschedule them. Then spent 1.5 hours on hold trying to cancel the Service. By the time I got through they said they were closed and that I couldn't cancel and would have to call back. Horrible customer service. They think they own the world and we are pions not worthy of simple human treatment.

Same exact issue with me. Had appointment this morning for double play service between 8-10.

Installer call me at 11 and say he was behind, and it would take another hour, we agree to reschedule between 5-8pm same day. 9pm no one call or show up, so i text the person who identify as a supervisor, he responded that he had no clue and will look into it.

This is beyond me regarding customer service, apparently no one is accountable for anything they do from top down. I'll contact Direct TV and see how it goes.
