Comcast - POOR SERVICE

I have been on the phone with Comcast this evening now for two and half hours... I get transferred and transferred and have to repeat everything over and over.. My Modem that I have had less than nine months died I went to pick up the new modem waited "25" minutes at the local store to exchange came home and plugged everything in to find that NO ONE IN THEIR ORGINAZATION HAS A BRAIN!!!! I am sitting here looking at the modem the phone line is plugged into Line "1" and Line "2" is lit.. Do you think there might be a problem. Gee.. I just figured out they gave me a USED MODEM>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I pay these people $250.00 a month for service ..What Service!!! I AM STILL ON HOLD!!! 3.15 HOURS

Cable Television Review

I have watch tv I see it is going off and on. I tried everything unhook cable from box to unplugging and nothing seems to work. What's next?? Not pissed off. Why should be. Comcast is good to me. Davidgauntt0099@comcast.net. Something to be aware of.

I feel ya'. I have made many calls to Comcast to change service, and inevitably I get an agent who is difficult to understand, talks so fast it's ridiculous, and throws so much information at me that it's impossible to process. As you said, they manipulatively tailor their "promos" to caller's need and by this time I am totally confused and they have convinced me that their "promo" is cheaper than the packaging program I currently have. They fail to mention that this "promo" is only good for 3 months, and they do not include in that quote the additional $25.00/month in miscellaneous fees (including a new monthly $13.99 "broadcast" fee which was $1.00 the month before.) The other miscellaneous fees include such fees as "outlet fees" (I only need one) and other fees of unknown origin. They now expect a yearly commitment with any services purchased from them. My cell phone is with AT&T, however, Comcast forced on me (without my knowledge) a "bundled" package, even though I only purchase cable and wifi from them. Comcast is the poster child for corporate greed and is most certainly a monopoly that has either paid big bucks to avoid anti-trust lawsuits or is powerful enough (it owns NBC/Universal) to dodge the issue. Unfortunately, they are the only cable provider in my area. Am sad, but not surprised to hear the problems other people have with Comcast. They are now inextricably involved in streaming. They will find a way to keep consumers tethered to them in the name of corporate profit.

1st, the cable/internet is steadily getting too ridiculously priced. Then there are scenarios such as, both the starter cable and the next step higher happen to be the same exact price (140 channels v. 220)This makes no sense and does not "catch" everyone's comparison weakness-There is always a catch to everything that Comcast offers. If it is not what I just mentioned then it is giving a consumer a set price but towards the end or at the end of the closing a rep. throws in added upcoming fees. Like, in a couple of months so and so will go up $10 then in a few more months there will be another added fee for something else etc.. It is never ending! Also I had been contemplating on keeping cable and internet service through Comcast but decided that I would keep the internet and not the cable service. Despite the "catch comparisons" thrown my way. I told rep. that I only wanted the cable disconnected (operator J$Z) but will keep the internet on for now. She blurts out why don't you just have them both turned off now and do it all at once? I told her because I only want the cable disabled and when "I" am ready to disconnect the internet that I will do so when the time comes. She got snooty and a bit rude because it seemed to bother her that I did not want to do both right then. She repeats back to me what we discussed. I requested the cable to be disconnected within 3 days. I return home this evening and the cable was disconnected and feel she did this to spite me. I called Comcast for service and got some asian rep. in another country who was quite frustrating and put me on hold so many times and each time would ask the same questions and told me she had to contact me back. Repeated calls from an 800 number and noone on there. This took a long time and I was told the problem would be resolved but after so much time,dropped calls and her repeatedly getting information wrong about my issue and getting my SSN, name and number many times from me...I get "sorry I cannot help you." I said but I did not ask for service to be stopped today, why can't his be reversed? She said sorry again and that I had to speak to someone else but her dept. was the right dept. that I was talking to but she could not do anything to help me! I said but it was not my error and why am I having to go through all of this? Ive had Comcast for several years and they have steadily gotten worse as far as communication and quality personal experience for a customer. I am so frustrated. Yet cable can go off at a drop of a dime but I am told by the rep. that equipment can be returned up to 2 weeks after service stopped!!!

Comcast - Poor customer service, poor problem resolution

I have had a problem with comcast since august. They have increased the rates without notification to the consumer,for starters. They shut me off knowing that I had medical issues that i can only get a hold of my doctors thru either phone or internet. And for the end blow, they lied not once but three times in 7-8 years of being a customer of theirs.....intially telling me that they secure their service, then having scammers take over my home phone number, being told i did not have international calling features then being told as I was cancelling/terminating services that I did indeed have international calling features, then being told that I did not return equipment which I did one piece earlier as it did not get signal and the rest 4-7 days after losing service. The problem is still unresolved even after being told they can do nothing, they have refused to itemize the bill, and to provide what they said they would do see below to collection agency they hired for detailed explaination: Jan 10,2015 Dear Sirs of Madame's: I wish to let you know of the reasons that I cut comcast in the first place and whyI am NOT GOING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU SAY IS THE BALANCE OF$1043.85. THE REASONS ARE LISTED BELOW UNTIL IT IS CORRECTED BYCOMCAST CABLE: 1. I cut comcast cable out as a customer for starters, after being with them for a little over 6 years getting bills of a little over 240.00/mo the last several years and cut comcast due to each month getting a higher and higher bill and allowing scammers to hijack my personal home phone number, making calls to apparently overseas and to other potential scam victims (I received a call a week or two after seeing my home number come up on screen as it was spoofed by a scammers and then a week or two later, I got a call from a nice lady who said that my number had called her, trying to scam her {foreign sounding persons}) So I contacted Comcast first by email and phone and in writing with several letters to comcast corporate office. which I was told at the beginning of getting comcast that the phone and internet were SECURE and that I did not have international calling features on the phone, And that I was locked into a certain lower rate pricing. And when talking to let the corporate office know that it was not was told "there is nothing we can do". I even talked with Security department and they assured me that I would not be charged for the calls that thescammers were making on my phone line. I was even told by billing in August "WE WILL *** ANY CHARGES TO YOUR PHONE THAT YOU DID NOT MAKE." Well, fast forward to August 21st when we got home from a trip to see my very ill sister who I had lost contact with for 25 years and found on facebook, I came home to find that the cable had been cut off. So I called comcast billing to make arrangements and found that the bill was 943.00 when ( I had been paying the bill. So I do not understand why the figure was so high). I hit the roof, and then asked what made the charges that high? I was told from billing that there were "SEVERAL INTERNATIONAL CALLS in between having the phone cut off on me, and then when I got someone back again, they looked the info up and said that it suddenly was deemed directory assistance calls instead and the person whom I spoke with supposedly took them off the bill then. It seemed funny then and now, that all of a sudden it was directory assistance calls when they said at that time THAT I HADINTERNATIONAL CALLING FEATURES ALL ALONG ON THE PHONE afterbeing told several times since getting the service that I DID NOT HAVEINTERNATIONAL CALLING FEATURES ON THE PHONE. COMCAST LIEONE, TWO AND THREE. I have written to comcast like I said several times about the problem with no concrete solutions along with the fact that I am on very limited income. I realize that they are abusiness, however, they have also failed to communicate and resolve the issue before it camedown to this. The last letter I received from them was a letter that they wanted theirequipment back or I would be charged up to 500.00. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!! ANDTHE FOLLOWING IS WHY: 2. On October 10th about 4-7 days after giving comcast the boot for lousy and incompetent services as a service provider, I got a knock at the door, and when Ianswered the door, a sub contractor for comcast was standing there wanting the the equipment (I was in the process of going to return it that day at the localservice location). He gathered three boxes, which that was all I had, the other boxwas turned in some time about a year prior as it did not pick up signal and my daughter could not use it in her room. So I returned it. Then recently received thethe letter stating return the equipment or be charged $500.00 to which I replied inwriting at the local office location where I did business with them stating this factto date, NO RESPONSE FROM COMCAST except by you calling my cell phoneWHICH I DID NOT AUTHORIZE YOU TO DO AT ALL!! Both the subcontractorand I signed to return the boxes and I let comcast know that I HAD RETURNED THE EQUIPMENT BUT DID NOT HAVE THE COPY OF THE RETURN SLIPUNTIL RECENTLY (enclosed is a copy, it is difficult to read but the origninal isclear). Dear Comcast; My records which are now in storage, indicate that that equipment that youwrote to me about on Dec 18th, is not accurate, As a representative of yours was out to pick the equipment up three to seven days after stopping service with comcast due tothe following factors: (1) comcast told us that there was no way or they did/do not secure their network after a scammer voip’d/ highjacked our home number and then were toldthat there was international calls on the phone, then saying there was not. (2) Comcast’sunwillingness to work with its customers. (3) innaccurate record keeping as the technician/contractor who showed up at the door, unnanounced and unsolicited took ALL THE EQUIPMENT AT THE TIME LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER PARTING WAYS WITH COMCAST. I do not have anymore comcast equipment and I REFUSETO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT I DO NOT HAVE OR WANT AND THAT I SIGNED TO RETURN EITHER. Please recheck your records for this alledged missingequipment as it was returned and possibly by now is sent back out. Sincerely former comcast customer

Buyer beware. Salesman will say anything to get you signed up. Majority of what he said was lies. Said there would be no charges for installation, actual changes were ~$160. Said our monthly bill would be ~$125, actual bill was ~$190. On top of all this, the bill is nearly impossible to understand, including 20-30 line items w unhelpful names like "service fee". Aside from the billing issues, service is comparable to Direct TV. Luckily we were within the 30 day window to cancel wo being charged. Comcast is garbage. You have been warned. Entering another six words to satisfy...

With 300 Gb limit I don't need 50 Mbps speed so I downgraded my internet to 3 Mbps or Comcast is loosing 36$ a month just from my family! But we all need to do that to show them that they cannot do whatever they want! Please people downgrade your internet and TV to show Comcast that we are more and we are bigger then them. Number one you choose your own package when you get the contract right?Number two you do not have to get any channels that you do not want.Three you pay for what you get nothing is free to you are anyone else OK.Fourth weather you switch to another company or not the price will go back to normal once the 6 months or 1 year contract end's.I do not understand why people think these companies need their money.You are know better than anyone else OK.Just because you have been with Comcast for 3 years does not mean these people owe you anything Special just to keep you as a customer.Their are people who have been with Comcast for a lot longer and I am so sure they do not expect to be treated with Royality.So in saying this you should either switch to a lower package so your monthly payment's will not be so expensive or Like you stated you should go with another company altogether.Before you switch I will inform you of one thing,All these companies make everything should so good,But you will not ever have a lower monthly payment unless you switch to a cheaper package.Use some Common Sense.From 2011 Up to the present time,How could you even think nothing would change as far as your monthly payment's.Evidently you are Stuck in 2011.This is a wake up call,The year is 2015 OK.

Comcast - Too expensive!!!!

I been with Comcast since January, 2011... From paying I believe back then $80-$90, now I'm paying $179.76.. For basically the same thing! We have added a new box, that's it! I don't believe it's fair for us loyal customers for our bill to go higher because the "promotional time" has ended. Instead of trying to keep us, you treat us disposable once our contract has ended. To make it worst your costumer services suck!!! When you try to see if there's something else they can offer to lower our bill, we got an answer of "you saved enough money with us trow out the yrs" so basically now you are charging me what I saved? Isn't that the reason why we took Comcast in the first place, to save?... The person didn't even try to offer me anything. I been 4 yrs with this company, I even moved and continue with your services. I told the person I was going to discontinue the services the person simple said "ok, let me transfer you to that department".. Where obviously he just transfer me to the generated answering service. This is the second time this has happen, last yr same thing my bill then when up to $146, I called said I will look for another company, Same thing no one care in comcast if I stay or go... Last night I went to dinner with a friend she was in the phone with Dish. She was basically saying if she could get anything for being a loyal customer and she got 3 months of free movies. She then explain how one time they offer to lower her bill with them just offering just the channels she wanted. Isn't that great!! Why pay for channels I don't even watch?? Which I just see them trying to keep her as a customer... Plus me being a new customer I will get additional discount for 6 months. My friend also told me she used to have comcast and had to change because the same, to expensive! It's sad to say, but I'm going to have to change. I hate changes! That's why last yr I stayed with you guys but $179 it's ridicules! I don't even use the house phone. Oh by the way, when I told your customer services if he could take the phone charge away he just said it will be even higher your bill... I'm moving again soon so most likely I will be moving from you guys as well.

We canceled our business services with comcast because of issues we were having. Then were told to drop off our equipment (modem) at store. The next day my wife took the modem to comcast store. They told her to put it in a drop box outside. She did as they asked. So two months later we start getting phone calls asking for return of equipment. We told four differant company reps what happened. Each said they would take care of it. None did anything and still are harrassing us about equipment we dont have. It enough that now we are going to cancel our comcast residential service. I recommend you go anywhere for your service but here. Comcast has no idea what customer service is. Just plain un American. Goodbye comcast. Thanks for all the harrassment. Loss of one customer for life.

Comcast - Bundle Review from Broomfield, Colorado

A barely English speaking Comcast sales rep called me offering my 6 months of internet, phone and cable for $119.99. He said "do you want to take advantage of this deal for 6 months"? And I said "yeah, sure". No where did I commit to any contract of any length of time. Accepting a discounted price for 6 months and promising to pay X amount for X months/years is completely different. Here I am a happy customer of Comcast with what I WAS TOLD to be a $119.99 monthly deal before taxes, until I read my bank statement after 2 months, I see $137, $148, $148 and $319. WTF????? After calling, I'm only being compensated $120 and $30 off of what now was a $191 monthly bill AND supposedly I signed a contract. Ummmmm I don't think so Comcast. Once this settles, I am cutting off service and never using them again. I rate 0 of 10
