Comcast Xfinity Equipment Fee Scam

I was told I would be a charged a $100 unreturned equipment fee upon cancelling my service with Comcast. The fee is for a cable box that I received as a part of my internet package. By the time I found out about this, I had moved out of my sublet. and my landlord had thrown out the box. When I was given the box by an Xfinity employee, I was not told in any way that I had to return it or that there was a fee associated with it. In fact, I did not even need the box, as I did not have a tv inside my sublet. I have called customer services a few times to try to get the fee waived, but they were very dismissive and told me that nothing could be done about it. I would be okay with the fee if it had been verbally clear to be that the cable box was rental equipment and had to be returned, but since I wasn't, I feel incredibly scammed and disrespected as a customer.

Only comcast would schedule maintenance of its Boulder system during prime times. This is the 3rd outage in the last few weeks.

I understand the need for maintaining their lines, but am puzzled as to the time period. Complaining yields offers of free premium channels for 3 months. We just want a dependable system. There many alternatives available to us here.

Maybe it's time to explore them. CH.

Comcast Blast Internet service was $39.99 - just jacked up to $65.95

I shake my head in disgust with these guys. They draw you in at a "reduced special rate", have you go out and drop over $129.00 on a new modem they recommend and then wham - get this months statement and the bill goes up $25.96 a month! Called CS and they don't care.. they're like drug dealers; hook you on ultra speed connectivity and then jack up the price... then if you want the same or "special" rate... tortoise speed plan. I'm a ten year customer and to be treated like this appalling. Class action! Enough is enough people. How do we defend ourselves from getting the screws put to us!

i think so many people are clueless about class actions...so many people scream class action class action, and all the money they get goes to the attorney that handles it, and each person might get less then 5.00 or a 5.00 off something....they will never get a large chunk of money from it

Comcast - Most Shady Company in the World

Comcast is the worst business in this world. Don't EVER do business with them. We got their internet service (only because barely any other services are available in our area)... I was dreading it but we needed the internet. We set it up ourselves and it worked fine for the first 2 weeks. All the sudden it stopped working for no reason. We called someone to come out here and they didn't tell us it would cost a dime. After waiting a week for them to send someone out, my boyfriend waited at home all day from the 8am-11pm timeframe they gave us. They showed up an hour after; he obviously was out running errands after sitting all day waiting for them. We had to call to reschedule. Another 5 days went by before they could someone out for a second time. They ended up fixing the internet.... However they screwed up our TV (DirectTV who is awesome!) and WE had to end up paying DirectTV to come out here to fix what Comcast screwed up. We cancelled our service with Comcast before our month was even up and I was told by not one, but two different (surprisingly nice and helpful) customer service representatives that they were sorry for our trouble, "it sounds terrible" and that we wouldn't be charged anything for the service. What a joke. They ended up sending us to collections for $94.76. My boyfriend paid it so it wouldn't hurt his credit. I called and spoke with Comcast and THE RUDEST person was "helping me" and told me that it "didn't matter what the other people had told me and this is the way it is." Now looking through the bill I'm also seeing some *** "Failed CHSI Sik" charge for $99.99. ... Which would mean what, exactly, Comcast?? The most ***, shady company in the industry. We hate them so much that we literally would rather not have the internet at all than work with Comcast. And in this day in age you can imagine how tough that is. But I refuse to give that miserable place another penny. Don't ever do business with them. The only reason they are still in business is because there are not many other options out there. Just remember Comcast, Karma is a ***. Can't wait to see you slowly fail. Sorry for the rant but I'm pissed.

Comcast Video Player Review from Mount Laurel, New Jersey

Your online video player sucks. One HAS to use a system that runs silverlight. So I can't use my linux computer. I have only one windows computer that I HAVE to use to watch tv shows online. And I have my phone of course. There are waaaaay to many commercials. While its on a comercial I can't how long is left on the show. We pay a fortune please get a better video player. I have zero problems with Hulu

Xfinity Home Security System Review

My home security system has been hacked. I am burglarized at least twice a week. This has been going on for over a year. I call all the time and tell them and they do nothing but shuffle me around to different departments. I'm furious but cannot find anyone with any power to complain to.

Watching on demand of *** on wheels for the twentieth time. It stalls and goes black since the first episode. I can't watch them when they air, and have to use on demand. As they boast. Stop go back watch is dies goes black. I'm getting very frustrated with Comcast and an going to pull out service if this doesn't get fixed. No time to argue tonight. Just got home from work. So I miss another chance to "catch up" as they boast. Bad deal. So much for the great Comcast!

Don't trust Comcast Reps

After agreeing to what I thought was a special offer that included a 24 month contract our 3 cable boxes were turned off immediately before I hung up the phone!! When I called back they said in order for the cables boxes to be turned on they would need to adjust our NEW offer to included the 3 boxes of $10 each monthly rental. Of course. that is the way they have always conducted business with customers. We are doing they happy dance in our home now that we are rid of them (5 years of misery) and the new service with a better company begins tomorrow!! Next step will be to get rid of them at my place of business. Glad I am the manager and can make that decision there as well. See ya and good riddance Comcast!

Details
Had 3x play connected Monday no service on Monday night. Called and stated the issue. They sent a contractor and she fixed the issue for that day. Wednesday issues returned, I was on the phone until midnight resetting boxes and learning to fix issues myself . Thursday I still on the phone , issues continues. Friday they gave me an appointment for 7:45 at night, no one shows up and when I called at 9 pm to inform them , that the technician haven't show up, they told me that I didn't have an appointment. When I said I had it and that I was canceling service and moving in to a different provider they gave me the ok to do so. The representative was rude and after 4 years with comcast I'm definately saying good bye comcast.

Comcast - Awful Customer Service

I have called Comcast four times asking if I have an early termination fee. Each time I received a different answer about a contract that I did not even know I was in. Eventually I learned I was not in a contract on the fourth call. Additionally, I have been billed for a box that I did not have and another one that had been returned months ago. The comcast customer service reps straight out lie. They will say they are issuing a credit and it never appears on the bill. It is very sad that this company continues to prosper when they clearly have no respect for their customers.

COMCAST IS HORRIBLE

I ordered my service right after leasing my apartment on july 10th. Received my self install equipment (which consist of a modem, cable box and a adapter.) I have self installed cable numerous of times. I call and activate the 13th. Everything was properly hooked up. No signal from the wall to the cable box. Called tech support, couldn't help and says we will call you back when we set up and technician to come fix. I wait a couple days no word. I call back and ask when a tech is coming out. They tell me aug 7th. Now I just want to cancel the services so I can get something else. They say they can fix the problem so they send me to 3 different departments. I finally get to the solution department after the run around. They say they put in an emergency ticket so the technicians can get to my house earlier. Im going on a month with out Cable or internet that I have to pay for. I say no im fine I want to cancel my services. They hang up on me. I spend 2 hours on the phone trying to cancel a *** service. I call the next day and get the run around again. I just want to CANCEL MY *** SERVICES. they still insist on sending me to the solutions department. They tell me the same ***. We are filing another emergency ticket for you so a tech can get out there faster. The tech insured me that they would call back in 30 minutes. this was august 3rd.. It is now august 7th and the tech is supposed to come out. And from what im hearing I have to pay 175 dollar installation fee. *** Comcast and everything involved with it.. Im canceling before my 30 days is up.. Which will be the 13th.

Comcast - Charging for 2 months after request to disconnect.

For business customers Comcast makes you sign an agreement. In that agreement they say there are other terms and conditions that are on their website. When you go to cancel service that is not under any contract they bill you for an additional 2 months of service referencing an agreement that you did not sign but was supposedly referenced somewhere on their web site. I found this so outrageous that I have decided I will never use Comcast again and will ensure that they never get a good reference from me. As the CSR at Comcast said "what difference will that make"!!

Same thing happened to me! However, they charged me for 6 months after I cancelled. Once I notified them of the error, they only refunded me for 3 months stating that they charge and additional 2 months + some processing fee.

Extremely unethical business practices.

End of the Road for Comcast

As a Comcast customer for over 10 years now, I can say I am finally done with them, and will never be back. Four outages within the last six months, two of them significantly impacted work and deadlines I was trying to meet, and two within the last 3 days that have lasted for at least 3-4 hours each. I need reliable services, not this hit or miss service. And how much do you charge me for this dependable service again? Way too much, that's for sure. Bye bye Comcast. You have permanently lost another customer. The sad part is, in researching other providers in the area, it seems they all have horrible customer service and are also not the most reliable.

X1 upgrade because they couldn't give me a clicker to work with my ten year old box that no longer worked. They talked me into an upgrade because they're incompetent to fix a simple problem. Now they have completely blown me off 4 times for install even lieing saying I wasn't home? I've now waisted 8 hours waiting for them! What good is that guaranteed arrival if it means nothing? I get $45 per hour and they think $20 for my 8 hours is enough?! How do they stay in business treating people like this? So pissed!

Comcast - Charged for equipment I didn't have

04/17/15 I noticed my bill jumped by $20 approximately, when nothing had been added. Upon investigation, I noticed that although I had returned the modem 3 days after it was issued to me and proceeded to use my own, I was being charged every month for the rental of it for a year. They do have record of the return and it should not have been continuing to charge me. I was on a promotion and automatic payments so the amount looked right to me. When it ended and jumped $20 a month, I called and was assured a $120 credit for their negligence in continuing to charge me. I then verified what the monthly charges should be from now on. 05/04/15 bill shows “partial reimbursement” of $10. The rep says they see the credit that it has been issued but not applied -- perhaps on the next bill. Balance still owed $110 07/13/15 spoke Rep. who stated that the credit has been applied and not to pay the bill. She further said I could call back in 72 hours to verify that the credit was applied but it should show up on the online account by the time the bill was due. I checked at the time the bill was due and it did not. Had to pay them again with no resolution on the credit. 08/04/15 spoke to Rep Rep tried to act like there was no credit pending and negotiate and get me to take $30 and said it was my fault for not noticing it sooner and that they normally only credit back 4 months worth. True, I should have noticed, this is why I will no longer use their automatic payment feature because I can't trust that our monthly agreement or agreed upon terms will be honored. I have no other option for Internet in my area or I would have switched already.
